Tony Romo rumor

Gotta ask what do you guys think? There are strong rumors we are interested. I would love it if we got AJ MCCaron from Bengals.

What do you guys think

- #2 SOS this season
- Risers like Oakland, a potential Romo signing in Houston or Denver, and Big Ben threatening retirement tells me KC is not a storyline this season.
- Aging/injured players on defense with a declining pass rush
- Big questions with Poe/Berry contract-wise
- Porous run defense with no quick fix in sight
- Off year for a visibly declining Maclin
- Running game efficiency declined as season wore on
- Smith's worst of his 4 years in KC.

It may be frustrating, but I would not be opposed to see Dorsey go full steam ahead on a minor rebuild. Draft a QB this year, and double down with a better one next year. Let some of the old, aging fat cats walk, collect compensatory picks, and build a young hungry, athletic team with a promising QBOTF at the helm.
I'm completely unopposed to letting Berry and Poe both walk this year. Collect 3rd rounders for next year. Maybe tag and trade Berry instead. Just ammunition to line your pockets with. There are some really good safeties in this class and some d-lineman that really fit well in the Chiefs scheme.

I mean they've done nothing but pass on QBs. The Carr one is going to bite them in the ass for the next decade. That's on them. It's been 4 years and they still haven't found his successor. It's annoying as shit. Yes, I do place them with previous Chiefs regimes because there's enough of a track record now. It's Alex Smith or the highway. Woof

They're not tanking. They're too talented to tank.

Carr is literally the only QB they've "passed" on. He was a second round pick so I don't think he would have satisfied CPs itch for a first round QB.

Other than that though, who else have they passed on?

I'm not saying the others are that good but who knows how they'd be in a good situation with Reid. That's what I'm talking about. Hindsight is 20/20 and I wasn't pounding the table for Carr but I'm just annoyed with no first round QBs in my lifetime

You trade Smith. You sign Romo. If we are lucky and he stays healthy, I like our chances to go to the SB. If he gets injured, we get to see what Bray and whoever else have in them and we get a higher draft pick to draft a QB high in a supposed great QB class in 2018. In this scenario, I would like drafting also a QB this year.

We know we're going nowhere with Smith as far as SB. I do think it is possible to win a SB with Smith but it is very unlikely.

Again, KC would the favorite if not for Alex. If they are interested, he's a Chief. More than likely, he goes to Houston. If they pass then Elway gets his broken man.
