Chiefs trying to trade Justin Houston
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Chiefs talking to teams about trading OLB Justin Houston.
We doubt they're successful. Houston turned 30 last month and carries an exorbitant $21.1 million cap hit. If the Chiefs don't find a trade partner, they're fully expected to release Houston, especially with Dee Ford likely coming back on either a big-money deal or the franchise tag. Houston's play has slipped in recent years, but he can be an effective sub-package rusher off the edge https://www.rotoworld.com/football/n...as-city-chiefs https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/n...carr-and-more/ https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/...justin-houston |

@ByNateTaylor: Can confirm the @RapSheet report that the Chiefs are indeed exchanging trade talks with multiple teams in regards to Justin Houston. It’s clear Houston is not restructuring his $21 million cap hit, so the Chiefs want to create more salary cap space.

Hell, I think I'd still tag and trade Dee Ford, too. He's just not a fit in a 4-3. Get a top 100 pick for Houston as RunKC said, and I'd do all I could to send Ford to Green Bay for their #30 overall pick. |

I'd think just to free up 21 mil if someone offered me anything for Houston, I'd take it and run. |

Jets are open to trading the #3 pick. What do you say Jets! We trade you Houston and we select Josh Allen #3

Well, sounds like we've got enough interest from other teams that a trade is inevitable. Neat.

Don't discount what having Mahomes does for the optics of this team. He's the MVP, you're going to get guys to come here because of that.

If someone offers you a mid round pick, jump at that shit.
An extra 3rd and clear that much off the cap? Yeah. |
