Season 3 EP 2 was definitely my least favorite so far.

Sadly, I agree. I think they painted themselves into a corner with the wedding storyline, and if this was a 1 off for a show with 13-15 episodes a season, it'd be okay, I guess.
But, a 3rd of the season, and likely to be the final one, this was a throwaway at best - with almost 0 apparent development of his supposed main villain of the season that we got a glimpse of after episode 1, Charles Augustus Magnussen . Their teaser Many Happy Returns I thought was a great short to wet your appetite, and I've just not been engaged with wasting time having to reestablish Holmes and Watson's relationship or dealing with the change due to his marriage. The last Ritchie Sherlock movie introduced that whole Mary / getting married scenario, and I would have been fine with episode 1, and then getting back to a case at hand (primary case of the episode) with an underlying plot setup for the big villain for episode 3. Mary would have been best left out or a minor point of the story on par with their widow landlord, Mrs. Hudson. There was really very little callback for progression of events from 1 to 2 & leading into 3- unless they really have us duped and events at the wedding and within episode 2 actually are subtle clues and pieces important to episode 3? What do I know, I'm just hoping that they go out with a bang and saved the best for last.

I could have sworn I'd mused on this here earlier [maybe in a different, buried, thread], but has there been a more odd-looking 'attractive' celebrity than BC.
I swear to God, every time they do a closeup of his face, I can only see either Simba's father in The Lion King, or Ron Perlman in Beauty and the Beast prosthetics. It's like there's this itch in the back of my mind insisting that he's not altogether human.

This thread is so skimpy compared to Game of Soft Floppy Penises thread.

Well it's not technically been aired in the US, but I would have expected more discussion also

Right but the thread has been up since 2010. I know it's a UK/BBC show, but it's pretty highly regarded internationally and it popped up for me on Netflix all the time before I started watching it, and I never watch British shows or even crime dramas. As far as Game of Thrones, I haven't sat down to watch it yet. I'm sure it's great but I just haven't had the time between work, school, a video game here and there, the few TV shows and movies that I already spend time watching, and of course watching the Chiefs rip my soul out through my rectum.

I love this show. It interesting though. Each episode is like a short movie. So you get like 3 movies per season.

Watched these over the last week. Brilliant!
If anyone's interested, a while back PBS aired a program called 'How Sherlock Changed the World.' It's somewhat of a promo for this show while also talking about the books' historical significance. http://video.pbs.org/program/how-she...changed-world/ Also, this week PBS American Experience's ep was 'The Poisoner's Handbook' which talked about investigating mysterious deaths in our history. Really enjoyed it. It's available for online viewing. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexpe...lms/poisoners/ |

Episode 3 is now available. Better option than the boring abortion of a game between SD and the .
