Perhaps that Shanny comp to Andy is a bit more on target than many like to believe...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Andy's first few years looked exactly like the Marty Chiefs. Very good team that ends up ****ing itself spectacularly in the playoffs. Andy was 1-6 in the playoffs over a 9 season stretch from 2009-2017 with the lone playoff win being over Brian ****ing Hoyer.

The frustration Andy faced was 100% justifiable at the time.

Fortunately he found his HOF QB bc that's the difference. That's why Belichick, Tomlin, Shannahan, Dungy and McCarthy have any of their accolades bc without their QB's their reputation has been total shit. It's also why Marty never got where he wanted to go.

Andy's legacy is now cemented. Previously he was a fringe first ballot HOF coach. Now he's a shoe in first ball HOF that will be on the Mount Rushmore of NFL coaches.
I LOVED both of those decisions. Which reeruns had issues with THOSE choices?!?

I was pro Geno for most of the draft season.

But it was funny - I knew I saw something in his mechanics before I knew what that something was. I said I didn't like the way his hips locked as he delivered the football. It took a ton of starch out of the throw and created some odd passes because it impacted his follow through.

Then like 3 years later one of the scouts for (I think) the Colts was mentioning what he called 'locked knee passers' and how they try to avoid them. I looked at the clip and sure as hell, that's what did it. Those quarterbacks with a locked front knee (and there are a shocking number of them) can't get their hips through. It was exactly what Geno was doing and I never put my finger on why.

You need a soft front knee otherwise your body is fighting against itself. And Geno, even the improved version of him, still has that.

So at the very least I had softened my stance on him a little by the draft because I saw something weird in there. And that's about the best I can say about my fascination with Chocolate Pain. Because yeah, I really wanted that guy for a couple months leading up to the draft.

I remember most of CP understanding that Geno Smith was not a 1.1 player.

I remember CP being pissed off that the one year where we had the first pick was basically devoid of 1st round QB talent.

I remember disliking the Fisher pick because at 1.1 you shouldn't have to draft a project. It took, what, almost 4 years for Fish to look like an NFL tackle, and even when he was a "Pro Bowl" level player, he still wasn't ever very good to great. He was good good, but not great good.

I remember the fact that there was no QB talent, and no clear overall number one pick, and that because we traded away picks for a game manager (I wasn't an Alex Smith fan, ever, until he was traded and we learned how much he helped Mahomes) the draft felt even more important, and we had the first pick of shit.

We picked the turd that Reid and Dorsey disliked the least, because I can't believe Reid, or Dorsey, actually liked that we had to settle on Fisher.

A LOT of people. Most fans wanted a franchise QB at any cost.

And taking a small school LT with the first #1 pick in franchise history rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

I think the vast majority of folks had backed off that a bit by the end of the combine, etc...

Remember, the Geno bandwagon was picking up steam in like November of that season. It probably peaked in January and then fell off. The duration of the Geno love-affair makes many forget that there were very few strong Geno supporters when draft season finally got here.

I was on board with the Fisher move by the time the draft got here. The one guy I absolutely did NOT want was Luke Joeckel. He got mocked to us so many times and I absolutely hated that idea. He was just so limited.

What an absolutely awful ****ing draft to have the number 1 overall pick. However, we did get the best pick in that entire draft class and we got him in the 3rd!

In a redo Travis Kelce gets drafted #1 overall and then Hopkins goes #2.

If I weren't so busy being a fan of a team with the greatest QB to ever live and a head coach who shits out Super Bowl trophies faster than he shits out day-old Taco Bell, I'd join a Seahawks board and give them a little Sandy Cheeks-type action for Geno.

"Want the Seahawks to draft his replacement? It doesn't matter what you want. Geno already has that nice contract you gave him. Looks like he's the true winner!"

All those dogshit niners fans who came here to spread the gospel of evil about Alex are getting their just desserts.

Deep down they were never Chiefs fans. And they likely went back to rooting for the 49ers post Alex.

And now they've watched the guy who took Alex's job absolutely ruin their lives. Twice.

Seriously.

If you’re gonna make that comparison at least have the decency to call him Jerry Sloan

Clay, can you ****ing read?

PRE-MAHOMES REID.

So yes. Karl appeared in the post season 22 times, finals once. Lost.

Andy won a lot of games, appeared in the superbowl once. Lost.

He's had some HILARIOUS Scorpion level faceplants in the post season before Mahomes.

And don't think we forgot, you flip flopping cock smoker, you were just as critical of Andy's Gaffes as anyone here, going out of your way to mock him on your YouTube channel that has less subscribers than a channel committed to actually watching paint dry.

https://youtu.be/HSpacfu5_Ck?si=glQ_q4JJRN21civE

So sure, keep up the typical Clay shtick as the charge leading #1 super fan who never had anything critical to say about every time Andy Reid shit down his leg on a sideline.

Hey dilphag9. It's just how your username reads. Perhaps if you had any semblance of reading comprehension, you may have chosen a better name.

Why don't you run along and start a thread explaining to us all how Left Tackle isn't an important enough position to spend money on. It's just you know, the one that protects 15's blind side. Can't wait to read it.

No. That's ****ing false. I was never off the Andy bandwagon. From day one I cherished his presence and never wanted anyone else as HC.

And I said many times over multiple years he was just waiting for a franchise QB, and that Smith was holding him back.

And funny youtube videos are not proof of anything. Besides, that was a Pawnmower idea I executed. Ask him.

You on the other hand probably would have fired him after 2018.
