In the spread offense (which KC is running) you have to run the ball. Our interior OL is crap and our RB's are not that good.
KC's offense is no longer balanced and that makes it much easier to defend. Solution: Draft the best center or guard you can round 1 and then add in a do it all RB who can make teams pay for playing coverage. |

In truth, that is one thing that utterly frustrates me about Andy. I’m sure there is some reason behind the choice, but I hate when Reid predictably jams a stick in the spokes of a rolling offense.

It is gonna be really interesting to see what Veach gets for Sammy Watkins or if he is just outright cut in the offseason. I'm sure there is a team that would take him, but obviously with that monster of a contract, maybe not. Not sure how often sign and trades happen in the NFL if at all, maybe that could happen?

I think teams adjusted to him a little bit and because of that he regressed a bit. I think last year really skews how we look at him though. 50 touchdowns and 5000 yards isn't a normal thing and we should realize he's going to be in the 35 to 40 touchdown range most of his career. Elite but not the astronomical numbers he out hmup last year. He now needs to readjust to the way defenses are playing him now and he'll be fine.

Being at the game yesterday, I noticed he missed a lot of plays he'd normally hit. He was either making a bad read or late read a bunch of times.

He's a better QB now than he was at any point in 2018. His numbers are down because of his injuries, Eric Fisher being hurt, Tyreek Hill being hurt, and not having his TD stats padded by red zone scores. But in terms of plays and throws, he can do exactly what he did last year. He just doesn't have to.
Seriously, has there ever been another player where a 4000 yard, 26 TD, 5 interception season is somehow disappointing? His floor is everyone else's ceiling. I also think we're going to see something nuts in the playoffs. I think they've been running preseason mode on offense the last month. |

Is he a worse QB than last year? I don't think so. He has some worse games statistically for sure but he also has some much smarter games and prior to his injury and Fisher's injury he was ahead of last year's pace. |

If you're a team like Indy, Oakland, Arizona, and you have a crap ton of short-term cap room and want to bring in a veteran speed target to make your entire group of WRs better, you wouldn't throw a 3rd rounder at that? How about a 4th? And if you wouldn't do that, I'm going to remind you again-- the NFL is full of some reeeeally stupid and desperate GMs. All it takes is one executive on one team. If the Chiefs want to unload Watkins, they'll get it done in a trade. It might be for peanuts, but it will get done. I'm confident it won't be through a cut. |

The odds Watkins is anything but a cut is probably about 2%. |
