If the Colts were picking at 2nd overall in that draft, I'm not so sure they still wouldn't be better served taking Nelson that high over the RB. And to be honest, if the Giants were really that stubborn about "setting the table" before you throw your young QB out there, I think a pick like Nelson would have been more valuable to that QB than taking the RB. You would have had fans screaming and lashing out about taking an offensive lineman over any of the QBs in what was considered a deep QB draft, but that's exactly what they did anyway when you took the RB, and that's exactly what they did when you took Daniel Jones. It's obvious Gettleman doesn't give a **** what fans or anybody else thinks, so you may as well go with the actual best player if you weren't going to take Darnold or another QB |

While Nelson is really good and will have a long career, I'll take the elite talent that will change my entire Offense. But it's not overspending. Thanks for playing. |

The only time I think a team really ****ed themselves not going RB was when Arizona thought it was a good idea to take Levi Brown instead of Adrian Peterson, they likely win a bowl with Peterson.

Gordon doesn't have the durability or the track record to really fetch much in a deal. You let him play out his deal, thank him for his service and let him walk and recoup a future 3rd/4th round comp choice.

I think the pendulum against running backs has swung too far. At some point the savvy teams will be picking up great running backs at bargain prices, and they'll reap advantages from it. You can't tell me that a team isn't better with Jamaal Charles at running back instead of Montee Ball or Melvin Gordon.

I’d rather take Fisher over Barkley, even at 1.
RB’s are easy as hell to find. I mean goddamn Damien Williams and Phillip Lindsay were some of the most productive RB’s in the league last year and they weren’t even drafted. Yeah Fisher is average, but it’s really damn difficult to find even an average LT in the league anymore.

Yeah because every HC and QB in the NFL are as good as Mahomes and Reid.

The chances of finding an elite qb in the mid to late rounds are much less than finding a running back |
