Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

The opening chase scene was some fine spoofing, had me rolling, the rest of the movie had to come back down to reality a little bit. Michael Keaton being in it really made me want to go out and find Beetlejuice and watch it with the kids.

Classics we've showed the kids: Goonies, Sixteen Candles, Gremlins. Somehow, my pick of Monty Python and the Holy Grail went over like a lead balloon...some people's kids (). We're thinking Wayne's World next, but need to add Beetlejuice to the plan. And Ghostbusters, nuff said.

I watched about the first 50 minutes of Dinner for Schmucks the other night before I had to turn it off. It was unwatchable.

Rango was very good. The animation and direction were top notch, and Johnny Depp is still Johnny Depp. It's better than your average Dreamworks movie, with a bit of dark quirkiness and humor. The youngest kids in the theater weren't laughing much, but the adults were giggling throughout.

Didn't realize Adjustment Bureau was a Philip K Dick adaptation until a few weeks ago which has made me pretty interested in seeing it.

Me too. I watch the shit out of The Rock. I've seen it probably twice as much as I've seen any other movie.

I'm looking forward to Rango.

I watched Tangled with my son the other night. Really enjoyed it. Solid Disney movie.

No, the fact that it was a horrible movie and Ferrell was brutally unfunny explains The Other Guys.

I'm siding with this assessment more so than the others.

Hardest I laughed was in the first 10 minutes, then nothin.
