FA WRs

https://walterfootball.com/freeagents2023WR.php

1. Jakobi Meyers, WR, Patriots. Age: 26.
Jakobi Meyers has been able to gel with every quarterback with whom he has been paired. He's a very reliable possession receiver. The problem is that he's been used as a No. 1 in New England when he'd be better off as a No. 2 option.

2. D.J. Chark, WR, Lions. Age: 26.
D.J. Chark caught only 30 passes last year, but played in only 11 games. Chark has proven in the past that he can be a viable No. 1, though he's much better as a No. 2.

3. Richie James, WR, Giants. Age: 27.
Richie James wasn't really the No. 1 receiver last year because he played in the slot, but he was the best-performing receiver all last year. James had some high-reception games, especially against the Eagles on two occasions.

4. Allen Lazard, WR, Packers. Age: 27.
Allen Lazard is a solid possession receiver, but doesn't offer much upside.

5. JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Chiefs. Age: 26.
JuJu Smith-Schuster broke into the NFL as an electric player, but has regressed since. He was just a mediocre possession receiver last year.

6. Darius Slayton, WR, Giants. Age: 26.
Darius Slayton seemed left for dead at the beginning of the year, but he stepped in for some injured players in the middle of the season and did well as the team's No. 1 receiver down the stretch.

7. Demarcus Robinson, WR, Ravens. Age: 28.
Demarcus Robinson was a surprise performer for the Ravens last year, doing well as a possession receiver once Rashod Bateman got hurt.

8. Jarvis Landry, WR, Saints. Age: 30.
Jarvis Landry didn't play much in 2022 because of injuries. He struggled when he was on the field, but he should be able to have a much better year in 2023.

9. Mecole Hardman, WR, Chiefs. Age: 25.
Mecole Hardman is a phenomenal athlete, but isn't a good football player. However, he's still just 25, so there's lots of time for him to develop.

10. Mack Hollins, WR, Raiders. Age: 29.
Mack Hollins is coming off his best season, catching 57 passes for 690 yards and four touchdowns. He had some solid performances when other players were injured.

11. Parris Campbell, WR, Colts. Age: 26.
12. Jamison Crowder, WR, Bills. Age: 30.
13. DeAndre Carter, WR, Chargers. Age: 30.
14. Nelson Agholor, WR, Patriots. Age: 30.
15. Equanimeous St. Brown, WR, Bears. Age: 26.
16. Chris Moore, WR, Texans. Age: 30.
17. Olamide Zaccheaus, WR, Falcons. Age: 26.
18. Marquez Callaway, WR, Saints. Age: 25.
19. Marvin Jones, WR, Jaguars. Age: 33.
20. Justin Watson, WR, Chiefs. Age: 28.
21. Marquise Goodwin, WR, Seahawks. Age: 32.
22. Trent Sherfield, WR, Dolphins. Age: 27.
23. Noah Brown, WR, Cowboys. Age: 27.
24. Dante Pettis, WR, Bears. Age: 27.
25. Phillip Dorsett, WR, Texans. Age: 30.
26. Byron Pringle, WR, Bears. Age: 29.
27. Keelan Cole, WR, Raiders. Age: 30.
28. Julio Jones, WR, Buccaneers. Age: 34.
29. Sammy Watkins, WR, Ravens. Age: 30.
30. T.Y. Hilton, WR, Cowboys. Age: 33.
31. Breshad Perriman, WR, Buccaneers. Age: 29.
32. Laquon Treadwell, WR, Seahawks. Age: 28.
33. Matthew Slater, WR/ST, Patriots. Age: 37.
34. Randall Cobb, WR, Packers. Age: 33.
35. Cam Sims, WR, Redskins. Age: 27.
36. Olabisi Johnson, WR, Vikings. Age: 26.
37. Marcus Johnson, WR, Giants. Age: 29.
38. Zach Pascal, WR, Eagles. Age: 28.
39. Trent Taylor, WR, Bengals. Age: 29.
40. Miles Boykin, WR, Steelers. Age: 27.
41. Scotty Miller, WR, Buccaneers. Age: 26.
42. Chris Conley, WR, Titans. Age: 30.
43. KhaDarel Hodge, WR, Falcons. Age: 28.
44. Jake Kumerow, WR, Bills. Age: 31.
45. Ashton Dulin, WR, Colts. Age: 26.
46. Damiere Byrd, WR, Falcons. Age: 30.
47. Rashard Higgins, WR, Panthers. Age: 28.
48. Brandon Powell, WR, Rams. Age: 28.
49. A.J. Green, WR, Cardinals. Age: 35.
50. N'Keal Harry, WR, Bears. Age: 25.
51. Deonte Harty, WR, Saints. Age: 25.
52. Andre Roberts, WR, Panthers. Age: 35.

I'd go to pure free agency or the draft. Unless they'd take like a 7th.

It seems so odd given where McDumbass came from. The New England offense he orchestrated always had the slot as the #1 receiver. Even though he has Davante Adams, you'd think he'd still want that slot component to be strong.

I wouldn't do it for KC but I could definitely see Belichick being interested for the right price.

If I were gonna trade for a WR, I'd definitely want it to be one who's under contract.

Yeah, if he's decided he can't use Renfrow in that Patriots dink and dunk offense that depends so heavily on underneath and middle of the field routes, what the hell use does he have here?

Man, I keep coming back to DJ Moore. If he's fine with not touching that contract, I'd absolutely send our 1 for him. Or if the Browns wanna moneyball it, I'd be happy to take Amari off their hands.

McDumbass should covet Renfrow. He is a modern Julian Edelman. He should already have an effective game plan for using him.

I think JuJu might be a lot bigger priority than CPers are making him out to be recently.

After JuJu, there's really nothing available at WR in FA. Biggest issue that I see is that he's the top available WR in a down offseason and might get tempted away from KC for big money he doesn't necessarily deserve. We saw in Moore what we can expect from a rookie WR, so its not likely you can just draft an immediate replacement for JuJu. If we lose JuJu in FA, might be we can only find a reasonable replacement via trade. There's probably several guys that I'd prefer over JuJu that might be available for a trade, but I'd hate to be left with only Toney as our #1 bc we missed our chance to sign JuJu. That's saying a lot bc I think JuJu is solid, but has no special qualities really. Could be a tough offseason for WR decisions.

I have a really hard time reconciling paying JuJu any type of major money. He's a big slot without any real redeeming quality whatsoever. He and Jakobi Myers are essentially the same guy. I'm fine with either of them if they are on a reasonable deal but I think if you start getting up over 15 per I'm hesitant to stamp that one with approval.

JuJu gets alot of receptions as a result of sheer volume. He's reliable in catching the football. He doesn't present any fear for the defense. Maybe that's something Reid really wants to have. He's like a slightly improved version of what Jason Avant was back in the day for Reid.

I guess I'd rather see a guy come in that has the potential to really be a focal-point, #1 WR and there just aren't any out there. The only one I see that really has anything near that potential is Slayton and he needs a date with the Jugs machine to reach it.

If you lose out on JuJu, I wouldn't think you couldn't get a guy like Parris Campbell, Noah Brown, or Jakobie Myers and have a similar outcome. I'm not too worried about it.

That's kind of where I'm thinking it might be prudent to address WR in the draft along with RT this year. I think you can make DE and NT work in FA even if it's not going all out. Maybe Arden Key and Greg Gaines would work well.

I'm letting Juju walk and hopefully getting a comp pick out of it if I can. I also wouldn't be against bringing back Hardman on a 1 year deal to let him increase his value going into next year's FA class, and then bringing back Watson on a 1 year deal as well.

Moore

Toney

That's 5 WRs that have familiarity with Mahomes and hopefully a rookie that you can bring up to speed.

Been saying pretty much the same, but Meyers is better imo. $15m for Meyers I could see being defensible, not for Juju.

They need to bring 1 guy back out of Juju, Hardman and Watson. He’s not great but I think Watson is the most likely to stay due to money

I think you have to trust that Moore is ready for a bigger role next season, and I think you bring back Justin Watson as insurance.

Then you draft a guy, knowing full well that he's probably not going to help you a ton in year one.

and I think you do that pretty much every year.
