yup, that's who i want and that's the most realistic option too IMO. the vikes dont have as much room to negotiate since they need to dump his salary. im sure they would rather get something vs nothing in return for him

The LB group should worry you more.

The LB group is basically a 50/50 proposition with Hitchens on whether he returns to form or not. And even if he does there's nothing next to him or behind him.

There's no depth with that group at all. Our starters there are reserve quality.

Eh. All big signings were structured to have low cap hits their first year. They have $25M in unused cap room. And Veach has mentioned that very same cap space while saying he's not done adding to the roster yet. Put all of this together and I think there's enough smoke to believe this guy might be onto something.

Or he's just taking that smoke and throwing it at the wall.

Lets be real for sec, if you had to float a player acquisition rumor that's most likely to be true, what would it be?

PP or Rhodes to the Chiefs, obviously. It makes the most sense and there's been smoke there for weeks/months already.

We already know that Veach wants to add a corner. We know he feels he's in win-now mode. We now he created the cap space for a reason. He's said all this himself.

We know the Cards are having issues with PP. There's been sooo much smoke there since LAST offseason. And the Vikings thing simply makes sense, because again, cost + smoke.

He has told us NOTHING that we haven't heard for months and is taking the easiest, most logical path.

We get another 9ish from Berry in June. The moves they are making give an 'all in vibe' I have a hard time seeing a team in that mode saving about 25m in cap space for roll over.

Eh let’s be real... very few teams with similar schemes have much invested at SLB. 4-3 teams just don’t value the position much.

I’m pretty confident that Hitchens will look a lot more like the guy we signed a year ago, and since we’ll probably be in subs most of the time, I think DOD will be next to him a lot. DOD hasn’t proven anything, but he has the talent and upside to say he’s more than “nothing”.

Don’t get me wrong, I think LB is the weakest spot on the defense, but I don’t think it’s quite as bad as some make it out to be (assuming Hitchens didn’t forget how the play football in a 4-3). I think it’s a weakness that we will focus on next offseason, but it’s not quite bad enough to doom us this year.
