In my divorce we argued and argued over a DVD that a friend bought us. It came down to who was friends with them first. So stupid.

I own that DVD though.

Tax-wise, it's generally better to be married if one spouse has a lot higher income than the other. It's often, although certainly not always, worse to be married if both spouses make roughly the same income.
