Chris Simms "the blatant DPI on Hill was the turning point in the game"

Simms confirms what I said yesterday at 20:30 in the breakdown video.

I dont care what anyone says...the officials changed the course of the game on that play. It resulted in a potential 14 point swing in a matter of plays...

Raiders dont win this game if that is called correctly...refs altered the dynamic.

Lets them have their sham victory lap...with Clete Blakeman driving the bus. Their fans know...

Blakeman officiated the NE/Jags AFCCG...which was one of the most blatant hatchet jobs in playoff history. He also did the Rams/Chiefs AND the Chiefs/NE AFCCG in 2018. The Chris Jones "roughing" Brady call might have been his finest work...

His record speaks for itself...controversy follows this douchebag.

Yeah, going on and on.... and on with "I'm glad that wasn't called, he was playing the football" (as they show the guy tomahawk chopping Hill's arms)..... "did he get there a little early, maybe, but it was a good non-call".

Are you saying you didn't see DPI? Because screen shots have already been posted last night that show it clearly was.

The arms were around Hill, Abram's back was to the ball, and the ball was still 4-5 yards away when contact happened.

It absolutely was DPI.

As that article states...Vegas sportbooks made out like bandits...just like they did in the Raiders/Saints opener. Anyone remember that 3 play sequence in the 3rd quarter..where they threw a flag on every play? They weren't going to allow the Saints to blow their payout..
The Chiefs have 2-3 ST penalties every game.

The thing about momentum is that it can switch the other way just as quick with some good play. That good play never came in the 2nd half. The Raiders adjusted, the Chiefs didn't give a **** and yet again refused to play small ball.

Simms nailed it on the analysis. And you saw it happen in real time during the game.

The Patriots and Raiders both rushed 3, congested the coverage and used a 4th man to spy Mahomes.

The 4th guy as a spy is the big thing here. It's an evolution of the 4-man rush strategy that L.A and SF used. When L.A and SF rushed 4, if they didn't get there but the coverage held, Mahomes would just scramble for a 1st.

The Patriots (and copied by the Raiders) solution to that was to continue to congest the passing lanes, but instead of rushing 4, they'd rush 3 and spy Mahomes thus taking away those scrambles.

The Chiefs MUST recognize these coverages earlier, develop their small-ball game and put together some methodical drives.

The offense has struggled this season for halves at a time because of this defensive strategy of congesting the passing lanes, and now this new wrinkle of a 3 man rush with a spy makes it worse.
The Chiefs scored touchdowns on their first 3 possessions, including a 9-play, 88-yard drive and a 7-play, 75-yard drive. They had a way to beat the Raiders defense and just didn't execute after the Raiders responded.

Some of it is play calling, some of it is the players, but at the end of the day, they started fast just like everybody wanted but they couldn't FINISH.

It also doesn't help that the defense basically shit down their leg, runny diarrhea-style.

I'd also like to mention the Chiefs secondary failing to be prepared for the Raiders with Henry Rugs. Our DB's bit hard on crossing routes, thinking it was the same old Derrick Carr, and Carr found his nuts and went over the top.

This game wasn't so much on the refs as it was on the coaching staff.

**** it, i'll say it: The Chiefs were outcoached.

There are two things that were different...

#1. Patriots were never in control of that game and the missed call didn't, directly, take points off the board or extend KC's possession. Chief's punted on the next play...and the call only cost 30 yards in field position.

I seriously doubt the Patriots would have won the game based off those 30 extra yards...with Stidman at QB.

#2. It was a terrible call but there wasn't an established pattern of one-sided officiating. Did the officials repeatedly remove actual points from them...or no-call a play that puts them at 1st and goal?

I think of football as a game of probabilities. Every play has a probability of success, and some of that is based on the likelihood that the refs will throw a flag. It sucks that a couple of calls went against us, but sometimes shit happens. We had plenty of other opportunities to get our shit together, and it just didn't happen.

We're going to get a lot of teams' best shot this year, and it's highly unlikely that we'll go undefeated the rest of the year due to all the random probabilities. We've just got to maximize our chances of success.

When you sit back and analyze the game it all comes back down to coaching.

The unwillingness/late adjustment to the Raider's 2nd half defensive adjustment which stymied the offense and allowed the Raiders to dominate T.O.P in the 2nd half.

The defense continuously caught guessing wrong as if they simply didn't account for the Raiders offense with Ruggs in it. Letting Ruggs get a clean release on a one-handed corner with no safety help....Yeah, that says to me that Spags didn't think Carr would go there.

And I ain't even mad at him for that. Shit, no one really thought Carr had it in him.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if round 2 is a blowout in favor of the Chiefs.

Can't let that happen.

The Osemele one is bullshit. He's inside the shoulder pads there and the dude falls down. Sorry, thats not a hold.

The Hill one is just blatant. Then the Schwartz hold later? Come on.
People forget the call on Schwartz was on a 40+ yard play that would have set KC up deep in Raider territory.

That was one of the worst holding calls I have ever seen. With the penalty is was a net 50+ yard difference and we ended up punting.

It absolutely was DPI.

It was textbook DPI.

I’m just saying it’s hilarious that a million people can watch that play and a sizable portion will say it was DPI, a good play by the defender, or just too close to call.

Think of the divisional impact this game had...from the NFL's ratings perspective.

Chiefs would be 5-0/Raiders 2-3 with a head-to-head loss. That would amount to a 4 game lead only 5 weeks into the season.

Now..KC 4-1/Raiders 3-2 with the head-to-head. One KC loss and a Raiders win puts them in sole possession of 1st place...amazing how that works. It was a 3 game swing...

I was tempted to bet on this game...but I dont gamble anymore.

The Chiefs could've voluntarily spotted the Raiders 28 points and still won easily, if they had bothered to show up for the game. KC deserved to lose that game, because they sucked balls.
