You just said Russ is better because he almost has as many Pro Bowls? Outside of contract negotiations that is one of the most worthless recognitions there is. I am pretty sure having 4 league MVPs is far more valuable and significant.

Russ was a better option because he was also on a HOF trajectory and is significantly younger.
