I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.
Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16) Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you: Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel) C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. I don't know much about the progress on electric motors as it relates to price but I sure would like to see the price on this bad boy come down some.

How does a 883 fit a taller person? I'm 6'2" and 195. I love the classic look, and would black it out with no chrome.
Got hit by a car once, almost died, so it's hard to get back into it. But the 883 look is nice.

for any riders in the Lenexa area, I found a great litle 45-ish mile ride;; mostly 45-50MPH. Ran into hardly any lights. Good little ride. Came across a small little bar (didnt stop) and a small food joint along the way in DeSoto.
Definitely a fun little route if you want to get out of the house for about an hour. Hell I might even run it again tomorrow. If anyone is up for riding in that area and want to get out of the house in the morning before the game, hit me up/post up.

For reference, my fuel light comes on right around 60 miles right on the nose each time. When I fill up, I usually put in about 1.3gal. So even though the fuel light pops on, it seems like there's a good amount of 'oh shit I need to get gas' miles left.
I've gone on several rides, city, country-ish etc. I've taking a liking to a small little 40 mile route that gets me out of town with no stop lights etc. Today I rode home fro work (10 miles), dropped off my bag/laptop etc. Gassed up, rod about 40 miles. I can say, my ass was very tender (NTTAWWT). So, it seems the stock seat is good for about 60 miles before you need a break.

so my brother picked up a used HD Nightrain with 11k miles for 12.5k. wow. took it for a spin, and it's a blast. shit tons of torque. very very cool.
Reihnhardt pipes sound amazing. Motorcycles rule because as much as I love the night train, I love mine just as much even though both are equally killer. Can't wait to ride with him; hopefully the weather holds a bit to get some miles in.

In case some of you guys have 2014 Harley Davidsons, take a look at this:

Harley-Davidson says the hydraulic clutch system in some of the motorcycles might not disengage the clutch, making it hard to slow or stop. Read: 2014 Harley-Davidson lineup revealed Owners of affected motorcycles should arrange an inspection with an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer. The dealer will pick up, inspect and make the repairs at no cost. The recalls affect Touring motorcycles models FLHTCU, FLHTK, FLHTP, FLHX, FLHXS, FLHTKSE and FLHRSE, plus Softail CVOs and Trikes, models FLHTCUTG, FXSBSE and FLSTNSE, built between May 3, 2013, and Oct. 14, 2013.

Perhaps there are some who can help with an endless debate online.
Slip-on exhausts. I’ve read in numerous places where you can replace the slip-ons w/out the need for a fuel manager; however if you replace both the slip-ons and a/c to a high-flow AC, you then need one (which makes sense). Has anyone heard the same thing or otherwise? I was thinking about going with a full-system, but for what I want out of the bike etc, I don’t think it would be worth it $ wise – though others have said to do it. Has anyone seen advantages of going full system? Is the increase in HP and torque really worth the costs?

On my sportbikes, it was pretty much a given that they ran a little rich out of the factory so I didn’t have any qualms just tossing the slip on there.
With the HD, I would think simply adding slipons would be ok because I’m not changing any air-flow/intake. Though, I’ve read it’s still a good idea to get a fuel pack simply to make it run a little better/cooler. I love the VH Big Radius exhaust, but man…I’m not sure I want to go the full-system route ($$). I think slip-ons, hi flow a/c, and fuel pack would be sufficient. Now full systems on Sportbikes…… massive weight savings.
