I have no idea how or why people would watch a newly released movie on a phone, let alone, a massive superhero epic in which the Sound Design and Score are vitally important to the overall cinematic experience.

I go back and forth. Sometimes I like the privacy of watching on my phone with headphones

Well, I gotta say I'm surprised. I don't know if I would throw around the word masterpiece, but the snyder cut was really good. The aspect ratio didn't bother me after the first five minutes, and until the epilogue never once did it feel bloated or indulgent. I mean, shit, it's four ****ing hours long. I didn't even expect to watch it in one sitting. But it worked. It really worked.
I kinda hope they find a way to keep it going. As impossible as I know that is. |

Just finished it. That was infinitely better than the bullshit version we got at launch.

I got 2 hours and 41 minutes in before calling it at midnight. I stopped a few times because for me, it began to drag.
I’m enjoying the extended backstories for the lessor explored characters and like the feel over the movie better overall but I just do not like the visuals at all. Too dark, too yellow, too brown, etc and I really hate the voice characterizations. They’re way too modulated and affected. In the Marvel films, Ronan The Accuser and Thanos sound “evil” but their dialog is crystal clear whereas I’m straining to understand Darksied and Steppenwolf. I’m excited to see Cavill without the VFX to remove his mustache (which was so fake and annoying) but I can’t imagine watching this film more than once. I’m just not really invested in this iteration of the characters and the look of the VFX and overall visuals are just a real turnoff for me. |

Finally finished it last night. It was much better than the original. But it still had some pretty glaring flaws. Some of the CGI was really rough. Like it felt unfinished. It had the same drab greyscale look of Man of Steel too. Steppenwolf looked silly. Pretty much all of the baddies looked silly. They did some time jumps here and there that were pretty confusing. I really enjoyed more of the heroes' backstories. They did Cyborg justice in this one. But there's no reason for this movie to be 4 hours long. They could have trimmed an hour and not lost much if any value. Just about all the battles were weirdly unbalanced.
Regarding some of the confusion:
Spoiler!
It was enjoyable, but overall just too much of a mess.

Not by any means a DC fan. Im Marvel fanboy through and through.
But this movie was ****ing good. In no way, shape or form should anyone ever watch, or reference the theatrical release again. Steppenwolf looked a thousand times better than his "Zombie with a dumbass hat" theatrical look. All the corny, campy bullshit was removed. Shit like Flash being a total pussy, being afraid of "bugs, bad guys, guns, and doing battle". And also drowning. The ohhh gross bug guts moment, and the awkwardly land missionary atop wonder woman moment. Superman's corny as **** entrance is totally gone, "I like truth, and ima pretty big fan of justice too." and the dumbass exchange between him and Batman. Just vomit worthy dialogue deleted. With the erasure of the entirely unnecessary russian family, Superman no longer idioticly bails on the literal fight for the entire planet, to go save some civilians. Also leads to the removal of "Hurr durr this guy still bothering you?" Line. Just a far better paced, constructed, and thankfully, written in the dialogue department. The R rating helped with more violence being added in the final act of the film. Entire scenes are stripped out entirely or repurposed, and it all makes for a better experience. Its a longshot, but Id like to see the next chapter with Darkseid now knowing where Anti Life is, and his inevitable invasion.

Joss Whedon rewrote and re-shot nearly the entire movie. What you're seeing is everything that Snyder envisioned before he left the project due to his daughter's suicide. Warner's spent $75 million while Snyder didn't earn a dime. This is ALL about Snyder's original vision. |

I've always been a SuperMan fan however an omni-powerful hero who really only needs someone to watch out for his one weakness seems lazy. Like WonderWoman is great to look at however you never have a sense that she is in any sort of danger. Batman is at least human supported by tech and there's sense of mortality not present with the others. Even AquaMan is pretty much immune to everything, what is his weakness? Redheads?
Unfortunately, it like having a bunch of Captain Marvel characters around that are over powered and ultimately, unrelatable. |

To date, Thor's been in like 7 movies and there were only three times that I can recall him truly being in deep shit (fighting Hela, Thanos putting the Power Stone to his head, and Thanos nearly shoving Stormbreaker through his chest). Yet his arc in the MCU has been one of my favorites. It's tough when you don't feel the stakes are very high, but ultimately these comic book characters are typically going to survive anyway, so really they've just got to make it interesting and entertaining. |
