Okay one of two things: either Powe doesn't rate as high and we are comfortable with all of the other options available at NT later in the draft or.......well that is the only option that makes sense to me.

Not the greatest position of need, but it's decent value, I don't have a huge problem with that pick, especially given that Brewer, Salas, Gates, and Shorts went right before our pick.

we spent a 2nd on arenas...we wasted a 4th in 2009 on washington

Why not try and fill up a need instead of drafting a CB that's most likely gonna be behind Flowers, Carr and Arenas?

He CLEARLY wasn't the BPA at that pick.

Hope he pans out....but count this as a WTF pick

A three-year starter and a team captain for the Buffaloes --- Named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in both 2009 and 2010 --- Cousin, Kenny Brown, played football at UTEP in the early 1990's --- Underwent shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum after the '08 season --- Best fit might come in a scheme that features a lot of press coverage --- Not quite as big or fast as teammate Jimmy Smith but is arguably a better cover guy --- Constantly picked on as opponents tried to avoid Smith but held up well --- Could compete for a starting job at the next level but will at the very least be a quality backup and contribute on special teams --- Underrated prospect with a nice blend of physical tools and top-notch intangibles who may wind up outperforming his draft status.
