**** I've been drafting a lot of defense ends.
Just kind of happened that way. Huge needs for both teams met the best available value. Profit.

The Vikings are quietly addressing needs at fantastic values and they do it again with this pick. Minnesota's receiving core isn't much outside Master P and they need to give Ponder more options. Here they get a prospect who had a superb offseason while showing great speed, hands, and athleticism and was graded between a 2nd-3rd round pick.
The Minnesota Vikings select Marvin Jones, WR, California. |

Just as my draft fills in a striking and urgent need (defensive line strength and pass rushing capabilities) another hole in the dam opens up.
Christ, Packers. I'm not a freakin miracle worker here! Quote:
Now they have a glaring need at center to accompany their continual RB woes and drastically thinning secondary depth. Nick Collins is still up in the air if he will come back healthy, and Tramon Williams is the only corner they can really depend on for the future. Jarrett Bush was terrible, and Woodson ain't getting any younger. Had I known about Wells walking prior to the draft, I definitely would have gone Konz in the 1st. But eh... what can ya do. |

It happens a time or two every year, a guy selects a prospect that's long been off the board. Every year we give the guy his normal allotted time to continue as if he never made the selection, until he corrects his error. |

This pick is a slam dunk for the Jags, who have otherwise had a very tough time getting the players they've targeted scooped up the pick before.
1. DE Melvin Ingram, South Carolina 2. TE Orson Charles, Georgia (selection was made before news of his arrest came out) 3. WR Marvin McNutt, Iowa 4. ??? The Jaguars boasted one of the worst right tackles in NFL history last season. They desperately needed an upgrade at the position. Fortunately, two primo talents fell to the 4th round. I think both Andrew Datko and Adcock are 2nd round talents. Adcock is more of a natural right tackle. Adcock does have some left tackle ability, but he projects much better to the right hands side. Datko is more of a left tackle, but can play either position, and it's starting to become obvious that Eugene Monroe is starting to bust at LT for the Jags. It wouldn't hurt to bring in Datko and have the two compete at both LT and RT to get Gabbert the best protection possible on the edges. Datko was actually the starting LT for Florida State, but injuries derailed him and allowed Zebrie Sanders to emerge. As these things often go, Datko has the higher ceiling, but is injury prone, so the floor is much lower. Adcock did dominate at left tackle late last season, so while you're getting a surefire right tackle here, Adcock may end up surprising with his ability to swing over if Monroe can't pan out. The Jaguars select OT Levy Adcock, Oklahoma State. |
