No but all teams mix and match due to situations these days and Lazard is a high end blocking WR so he'll play a lot in that system.

So? Lazard is the 2 at the moment. Things only get interesting if NYJ acquires OBJ/DHop. What HC would slot Lazard ahead of either of those guys just because of the size of his paycheck? Only an idiot. And it doesn't have to be set in stone. Any decent OC could see the value in having OBJ and Lazard switch back and forth between the slot and y or whatever from series to series, or even snap to snap.

At the end of the day, per snap, OBj is going to be more productive than Lazard. Doesn't mean Lazard has to ride the bench, at all.

Just feels like overkill for a team with other needs.
Aaron told NY to go get him Lazard, Cobb, Lewis and OBJ.

Obj thinks teams want to see one handed catches? Show off the time he’s spent in the weight room. Maybe forget he’s high maintaince and 2 ACL surgeries and an ankle injury. He originally wanted $20 million a year. What if he goes off then wants $20 million or he causes a problem? It’s just a huge gamble.

Veach needs to get the Dhop deal done.

This is a team that had back to back HOF QB's and went to what, 2 super bowls in 30 years?

Not exactly a well oiled machine...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Not trying to argue with you, but that's not exactly what Aaron said. Or, more precisely, he didn't hand them a list of WRs and say "get me those guys."

According to Aaron, NYJ asked him if there were players available that he liked, and he gave them a list of suggestions. He never said "you have to get me these guys," instead he said "any of these guys would work," or words to that effect.

In other words, he never presented a list of demands. He was asked by the Jets for a wish list.

Chiefs’ Andy Reid addresses Odell Beckham Jr free agency rumors

Quote:

The Kansas City Chiefs have been linked to Odell Beckham Jr. for two straight offseasons. Will Kansas City finally pull the trigger and sign the biggest name in free agency? Chiefs head coach Andy Reid isn’t exactly providing answers.

“Odell is a good football player. Yeah, he does a nice job. So, we’ll see how all that goes,” Andy Reid told NFL Network’s Steve Wyche when asked if the Chiefs had discussions about trying to add a player like Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham could be a perfect fit with the Chiefs. Kansas City is lacking wide receiver depth due to departures in free agency. JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Chiefs’ No. 1 wide receiver in the 2022 season, signed with the New England Patriots. Mecole Hardman left the Chiefs in free agency for the New York Jets.

Beckham hasn’t played an NFL game since leaving Super Bowl 56 with a torn ACL. The receiver spent the entire 2022 season in free agency. The Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys have been reported as possible suitors for Beckham.

There’s been some dispute regarding Beckham’s asking price. The three-time Pro Bowl receiver shot down reports that said he was seeking $20 million per year. Given his injury history, Beckham might have to sign a short or incentive-laden contract.

One year with Kansas City could help Beckham rebuild his value on the open market. After Kansas City traded Tyreek Hill last offseason, Patrick Mahomes threw for a career-high 5,250 yards. The Chiefs had the NFL’s highest-scoring offense en route to winning their second Super Bowl in four seasons.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore are the top wide receivers on the Chiefs’ roster. None of those players even had 700 receiving yards last season.
