Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Thoughts?
So after seeing "Battle: Los Angeles" last night, I decided I better get serious about getting an AR. I was checking more on ammo prices (545 vs 556) and am seeing that the really cheap 545 ammo ($0.12/rd) has "lacquer coated" steel casing and I've been told to avoid that as it is corrosive. The next cheapest 545 ammo I'm seeing is between $0.24 and $0.26 per round.

The 556 ammo I'm seeing as low as $0.20/rd on one site - http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/produc...oducts_id/2589

Do you guys have favorite ammo brands, or any advice on which to stay away from?

I've put about 600 rounds through my .22 rifle (Marlin 981T) over the past week and a half. I'm thinking about adding a Ruger 10/22 to my collection. I need a semi-auto .22 rifle, since working a bolt action a few hundred times per session can get tiring.

I've been an owner of several Ruger 10/22s. Had one of them for close to 20 years now. It's a perfect 22. Infinite accessories, including some huge mags. Easy to maintain.

You won't be disappointed.

I ended up buying a Ruger 10/22 yesterday. Got it brand new at Dick's Sporting Goods. It was marked at $209.99, but I got it for $199.99. I guess they were running a sale for $10 off. I can't wait to shoot the piss out of it this weekend. I'm already looking at some new parts for it, like a different stock, barrel, trigger, optics, etc.

It was the base Carbine model. I plan on putting at least 1500 rounds this weekend, and I'll decide what I need to mod first.
