Refs

Today I thought the refs were excellent. I hope we get these refs next week and they work the super bowl as well. Called a very good game!

The two worst calls I thought were the running into the kicker and the non PI call on the Ebron route down the sideline.

Neither would have made any difference in the end result but they were still a bad call and non call, respectively.

Look at harris' hold on the hill td. If that happens against kc people go crazy. That's always my issue with complaining about refs.

We are biased as fans. When you win it's all great and the Colts have threads about it. If Colts win we have threads about it. Another reason I shake my head about fixing. It's so subjective.

Think about all the times we have threads about refs screwing us. Now think about all the threads we have about refs screwing the other team. And I'd bet damn near every forum of every sports team is like that. For that reason complaining about refs tends to annoy me. There are exceptions of course, like the forward progress or last night's in the grasp call.
I was shocked that wasn't called. I saw the hold immediately and was sure the TD was coming back. Dumbastrious almost cost us big again.

Or a hold on a tying FG....

Or a hold on a tying 2pt conversion....

Uhhhh....the holding call on Fisher late against the Steelers? The forward progress was stopped call last year?

Officiating Officials should take note of how that game was called. Yes, both sides got jobbed a touch and that happens every game. But the Refs were for the most part invisible and not a part of the game.

Both of those were correct. Not sure what game you were watching.

The thing is we had John Hussey, home teams are 13-2 over his last 15...his crew seems to always have less flags in general and favor the home team.

That being said, I too noticed the Harris hold that wasn't called. That one probably should have been called. Oh well, there were a few holding on the Colts that weren't called, as well. So, it evened out, IMO.

I guess technically the running into the kicker may have been correct, even though he didn’t actually run into him, Colquitts feet grazed Goodes legs coming down.

But that was definitely pass interference. The DB grabbed Ebrons arm with his back turned before the ball got there. That’s pass interference.

The defender's leg whipped at Colquitt's leg as he was coming down. That is a penalty every time. There is no question about that.
You may be right or you may be wrong about the play on Ebron. I'll have to see that play again because I don't remember it the way you describe.

I'm sure Colt fans are screaming "rigged". Lots of non-calls, they let them play.

Personally, I agree with those saying that none of it would have mattered.

You all do know Hussey was the ref in the NE game right? Just making sure to clarify that.

No. Colquitt landed on the defenders legs, then his feet glanced off of Goodes calf and he fell. Goode didn’t touch Colquitt when he dove for the ball. Like I said, I’m not 100 percent sure on the text of the rule, that may well still count as running into the kicker. It seemed pretty ticky tack though.

And the Ebron play was definitely pass interference, watch the replay. He clearly contacted Ebron before the ball got there, with his back turned.

Again, neither of those calls changed a single thing about the outcome. I just thought those were the only two bad calls I saw.

The D-line (Jones in particular) were granted great latitude in the Hands to the Face department. Lots of no-calls in the secondary as well, as many have noted.

Overall, a good job, as I said before though a game like that the losing team is going to whine and bitch about the refs because they "let them play".

When KC only has 6 penalties, something is right (or wrong, perspectively speaking).
