He shit the bed for a full 4 quarters.
I know Mahomes, the quarterback of my favorite NFL team the Kansas City Chiefs, has a bad half here and there, but never a full-blown abortion. |

Accurate and smart plays up regardless of the talent around it. The real question will come down to coaching, IMO. I'm less curious to see if Burrow can play with lesser talent - I see nothing in his game to suggest he can't. But can Taylor run an offense that doesn't have 4 pro bowl caliber skill position players on it? That's a different question. Burrow's game translates to whatever roster you give him. He processes quickly and the ball goes where he wants it to go. Regardless of the tools he has around him, there's just nothing in his skill-set to suggest that he won't be a great player even with lesser lights around him. And frankly, Higgins is likely the only talent he'll lose. The Bengals can afford to keep him and Chase, as well as another solid #2 weapon like Boyd. And Mixon's a good player but RBs are largely fungible. He's not going to be out there throwing to 4 Demarcus Robinsons and handing off to Mike Cloud or anything.

Mahomes and Burrow are the cream of the crop. Allen, Herbert, Hurts are 2nd tier then there's a buch of decent but not greats

Herbert is the very last in second tier if he is second tier at all. The guy has not won a single game that was a must win game.

In the game you reference, Herbert’s top receiver literally had a broken back and they basically forgot to run the ball. Not to mention Bosa having a meltdown. Burrow in his wins hasn’t really showed much ‘moxy’ apart from in pre or post game interviews, and I’m sure the team has rallied around him as a leader which is creditable. But I can’t recall a single game where his actual gameplay won them a game or he was required to do that. Burrow is getting away with the ‘moxy’ because his team is backing it up, he will be flirting with the ‘Mayfield’ line when he doesn’t have a premier team and they don’t actually win as much. |

Bills did come to Arrowhead and win and Allen made a difference.
If you watch that game yesterday and can't figure out that the entire Bengals team was a better snow team than the Bills team that had a lot of their better defensive players hurt then you just might be a redneck that knows not much about tackle football as it is played in the National Football League.

Probably in the next tier. I'm not a big fan of run first qb's. Sure the can set the world on fire at first, but once they get hurt a few times and they lose a step, they fall off fast. I think Baltimore knows this which is why they're reluctant to pay him the way he wants to be

Burrow is straight fire.
Great receivers help, but he is going to be good no matter what. A worthy adversary. |

Mr. January is a .500 playoff QB.
The loss of Daboll was crushing. Of course Bills homers told us it didn't matter. Allen is a Flacco who can run. That's still pretty good but it's not Mahomes or Burrow. Allen has slow eyes and will always need to be reined in because he is a dumb player.

We'll see how he plays next year. Last season wasn't Mahomes' best either and that second half against the Bengals made him look amateurish.
Allen has done a lot more good than bad in his career. He was terrific in the playoffs last year. Not his fault his defense choked. He just struggled this year with turnovers and wasn't good enough in the playoffs. |

Tier 1 - 3 - The game's absolute best with no major flaws. You're likely to win a SB with these guys. Pat Mahomes II, Joe Burrow, Aaron Rodgers Tier 2 - 5 - Very good with a flaw that keeps them from being in the top tier but you could easily win a SB with one of these guys with the right supporting cast. Their team should be in playoff contention annually. Josh Allen, Tom Brady (age), Matthew Stafford, Jalen Hurts, Trevor Lawrence (maybe T3 but ascending) Tier 3 - 10 - Average QBs with some flaws that probably keep them from ever winning the big game but are good enough to keep their teams in playoff contention. Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, Geno Smith, Tua Tagovailoa, Derek Carr, Dak Prescott, Kyler Murray, Brock Purdy Tier 4 - 10 - Below Average QBs with significant flaws that make them fringe starters, temporary starters, or they are just too young yet to determine. You aren't winning anything of significance with them. They're good enough that they are better than backup quality but even then are flirting with it. Russell Wilson, Daniel Jones, Jimmy Garoppolo, Matt Ryan, Mac Jones, Ryan Tannehill, Kenny Pickett, Justin Fields, Carson Wentz, Baker Mayfield Tier 5 - 4+ - QBs that lack the talent to truly be NFL starters but have been thrust into those roles because the teams they play on are desperate. They need coaching up or to just hold a clip board. Davis Mills, Andy Dalton, Jacoby Brissett, Marcus Mariota, Taylor Heinicke, Zach Wilson, Mitchell Trubisky, Mike White, Sam Darnold Tier 6 - 1 - QBs that need anal massages and you aren't sure where he'll end up in terms of tier.
