The Chargers always have a great cast of players and play the Chiefs well. They also seem to be able to shoot themselves in the foot year after year with injuries and timely losses. I wouldn't sell them short because if they can stay healthy, will be a tough out for a lot of teams. Herbert is going to be an issue in the AFC West for years, he doesn't have the ability of Mahomes to make insane throws under pressure however I believe he's going to be a top QB in the league. Playing the Chiefs twice a year will make him sink or swim pretty quickly.

They hired a nobody coach. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but I'm sure nobody will blame me if I bet against him finding success in the NFL as a head coach.

Yep.

They didn't just hire a guy with very little experience, they hired a defensive head coach. How often does that work out in this day and age?

Gotta wonder how Bieniemy or Kafka would’ve done in LA. Glad we won’t know.

I have no clue if this was the case, but the move to a defensive coordinator after just seeing a pretty damn good season from a rookie QB smacks of the owner getting too involved. Spanos was probably like, "Now listen, I may not know as much about football, but I know about common sense, and see here we've been doing a lot of losing with these offense guys at head coach. You know what the definition of insanity is?! Yep, that's what I thought!"

I know Joe Lombardi is on staff, but if he has success, he's going to get hired as a head coach VERY quickly. Staley can't possibly know jack shit about young QBs or however the **** they should be coached.

A special teams coach just won the SB not long ago.

You know what you're doing or you don't...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Alert us when Justin Herbert leads them to a clutch win.

This might be the year he's actually correct....Herbert looked great for his first season...and they have a new stadium to sell.

If the NFL wants it...it'll happen...just look at Brady and his record 27 PI calls.

NFL propaganda to sell seats in LA. They do however push the Chargers every year, even in San Diego. They may be good, with a little help from the refs, but they're not the Chiefs, with this new OL.

I was impressed with them on Sunday vs the Redskins.

Herbert is the real deal.

If they stay healthy…..
