These billionaires can see the value of their teams skyrocket if its an international game. The revenue increase will make the players happy and open up new endorsements. Anyone that thinks they can stop this by boycotting a streamer game are not in reality.

Netflix and its international audience the first shot across the bow. The game no longer belongs to America exclusively anymore.

Just in Germany and the UK there are 32 mil NFL fans combined. Any streaming site that has international access would be stupid to not try and get games on their platform. The NFL is exploding in Europe.

Putting it on Netflix does not make it a global event. I would almost guarantee it will be limited to the US.

But I can choose not to participate.

I once followed the KC Sacramento Kings as an avid fan and they lost me. Now I'm a casual post season viewer.

It's because every god damn network has a streaming option, so to get the shows you want to watch you are paying pretty much cable/satellite prices because you have to get 5 different streaming services. It's stupid. Another stupid thing is that most of these companies lose money due to their streaming services, but are too ****ing stubborn to just group up with each other and have 1 big service.

If the goal here is for Netflix to get new subscribers, this could maybe not help them as much with that objective.

Lots of people travel and spend Christmas with family/friends… so they could watch the games on someone else’s existing Netflix subscription, rather than having to sign up if they were watching it by themselves.

Its not all about getting the immediate impact of new subscribers, its also elevating your platform.

Check the layouts made by the broadcast channels in the 70's/80's. They barely broke even or made little profit. It was about having football on their platform.

Illegal streams will become more and more common.

I REALLY enjoy the fact that Netflix pays the NFL a shitload to stream a few games, then charges for advertising on top of their monthly rate, thus double-dipping.

I mean, that's an amazing deal for the daily viewer.
