Yes, I had mono in college.
I had an excessively sore throat for a few weeks so I decided to go to the campus doctor. It turns out I had mono and strep throat at the same time. It was really no big deal at all. I still went to class, did my daily workouts, went to work, went out late at night, etc. I was just slightly more tired with a painful throat and intermittent mild headaches. It was really no change to my life at all. |

I had mono in 7th grade, either from my buddy's sister or the girl across the street. My mom thought I was on downers, like 'Ludes or the Her-Ron. I told her the only the thing my friends could get was shitty brick weed. She didn't believe me. I told her I was tired as **** and couldn't go to school. She still didn't believe me. Made me go to the doctor. Doctor told her I had mono. She believed the doctor. I got to stay home during MMATs then make them up in the air conditioned library at Bridger while my classmates were sweating their assessments off at Palmer...

And with the spleen swollen you're at greater risk to receive a laceration. From what ive heard, this is what happened to Chris Simms (yes, we knew he had a spleen laceration, didn't know that it was already swollen from Mono). I don't know if that's accurate or not, just what i heard on the radio. So the Jets don't want Darnold to get Chris Simm'd.

Because of Tyreek's injury, I'm stuck with Crowder or Anderson at WR in FF.

Even if Darnold played he'd just be awful. And I mean awful relative to how he usually plays, which is already not good. |

Darnold out a few weeks with Homo is how I read that title.
Didn’t know that was contagious.

According to Cowherd the Jets season is effectively over, even if Darnold makes it back by week 4.
I don't know if I agree with that, but I kind of feel bad for Darnold if that's the case. He finished last season well, and I was kind of looking forward to seeing if he would continue to improve this season. |

Not saying they should pack up shop, not even close. But unless their backup can pull out a win for them this week, it's certainly looking dire. |

In my younger years I worked with a dude who got mono. He was like 17 or 18 at the time. Went from 180-ish down to 115 pounds. I guess it affects everyone differently, but I’m guessing the issue with Darnold is potential spleen damage. No point in risking his future health over a lost season anyway..
