I prefer Roth VH to Hagar, but anything Hagar did was leagues better than solo Roth.

After Dave's "departure" from Van Halen and the subsequent cancelling of his $10 million dollar film by Sony, he was scrambling to put a band together.

Even though Steve Vai is an absolutely amazing guitarist, he's just not an even decent songwriter when it comes to rock music with vocals, so Dave's camp was knocking on every door in town, looking for songs, which is why the album is very inconsistent.

I liked parts of Eat 'Em And Smile but to me, it would be #7 on the DLR solo/Van Halen albums.

5150 and OU812 were a huge departure in songwriting, sound and direction and for me, they haven't held up very well. F.U.C.K. was a decent album overall with a great song in Right Now, but I really didn't connect with it.

Believe it or not, I've never even bothered listening to Balance or Van Halen III with Gary Cherone. I heard the demos back in the day with Cherone and for me, it just didn't work at all. Even Mike Post will tell you it's a mess, who was a ridiculous choice for a Van Halen Producer, especially when there were some great rock producers back in the 90's.

I can't figure out how to post a pic of the product. I made a hat for a national company with a likeness of his guitar pattern in the front two panels. It's a really cool looking hat (I was just paying homage to him). It never said anything about VH, but he has his attorney call and we sent his some money. I sent Ed a hat and asked for him to sign it since we were paying, but never got anything back.

He tried suing Under Armour for the same thing, but they pretty much told him to "F-off", they had more attorneys.
