So we hate Smith because we can't get over the division round hump so we're going to replace him with a QB that also can't get over that him and add to that, he's 37 and injury prone? Uh....OK.

FWIW, in the playoffs:
Romo: 2-4 record, 1316 yards, 8 TDs, 2 INT, 61% completion, 93 passer rating

Smith: 2-4 record, 1481 yards, 12 TDs, 2INT, 60% completion, 94 passer rating. Also has 207 rushing yards and 1 TD.

Why is Romo such a big upgrade in the playoffs again?

Solid point... and you'd be better off comparing Smith in KC. 5 of his passing and the lone rushing TDs were in SF.

Anyway... Tony Romo, who thinks he just might find his way to San Francisco? Kyle has little to work with there now, put Romo on a 2 year plan to bridge the gap to their next QB. Puts fans in the stands.

If Denver gets Romo and Andy stays with Alex in KC, I'll be a little pissed.

No, I'll be a lot pissed.

If KC trades Smith and signs Romo, I'll be thrilled.

It'll be like having Trent Green with a legit good defense, only a better version.

3. You can get 3/4 of what you want and not send draft picks to Dallas.

So the real off season choice is Foles. Do we want to walk away or extend him? I say extend him and still draft a QB. If we can trade Smith great, but if we can't he's the starter, which I'm fine with.

Rule 1: Don't trade any picks for a 37-year-old QB with injury issues.
Cowboys get a lot more $$ back on the cap by releasing him rather than trading

There's no way he goes to a team with that little talent. It's either going to be Denver, KC, Arizona, or a team that's a dark horse IMO, the Jets.

Maybe not, but unless it's wrong... OTC has SF with nearly $81M in cap room. That can fix a lot of problems if done right.

They're not going to bring Shanahan over and not pay for new toys.

This 110%... I wish Romo would hurry up and sign with Houston because all this nonsense needs to stop. Alex isn't going anywhere, I would love to see Mahomes or Cooks to fall to us.

They save more cap money by cutting him, not trading him... so let's say it's even $1M difference, unless there's a known player and picks or 2 solid picks, Dallas is better off cutting him.

I think they'll waste a lot of time trying to find a partner. There might be 1 or 2 teams from a trade perspectice, maybe. It's just not going to happen, they will cut him and then Romo can pick his poison. Dallas will have greater cap savings and it's on to 2017.

cutting him is the gentlemanly thing to do. it allows romo to go where he wants to. its a bonus its easier to cut him financially.

I don't think I'd be pissed because I think Houston & or Ford would put Romo on his back and out of commission of football.

Romo is not the answer here any more than Alex Smith is. It's just a moot point.

He would want more money than he is worth that would go against the cap and still hold back any prospect we may draft because he would take reps away in practice.

Any more retread quarterbacks for the Chiefs and I will become the Anti-Chiefs fan. Still hate the Broncos and Raiders but I would hate the Chiefs then also and look upon them in shame.

Cutting him saves $14MM trading him saves $5MM.

The draft pick they get has to be worth a value of $9MM to make a trade worth it. I think that's a pretty high pick.

Don't see it happening.
