Again, nobody expected him to be this good in his first season.

It would be foolish not to take advantage of the opportunity to win it all RIGHT NOW.

On the other hand is, strike while the iron is hot!

EVERYBODY here is talking about Mahomes being a perennial contender for 15 years.

Chances are he won't even PLAY for 15 years, let alone at a high level. And the chances of the Chiefs being a dynasty are infinitely tiny.

That's reality. It may seem pessimistic but given the way the NFL works, the Chiefs may not ever get another chance as good as this one.

This defense can beat anybody at home.

The NE game was, by far, the most important game on the schedule and they lost. That's a shame because this is a Super Bowl season by almost any other measure.

LOL ... damn, man. That's just backwards.

The fact of the matter is (and it is a fact) that Mahomes missed two touchdowns in the 1st quarter of the game. He also missed a wide-damn open Sammy Watkins waaaay downfield on the first INT. Those were connections he's been making and he blew it by doing his first-half, think-too-much, freak-out routine.

Once he got in harness, he was excellent ... not exactly sticking with the playbook, mind you ... but excellent, nonetheless.

The defense, on the other hand, played like ass all game (save for a couple of FG stops and a turnover). Yet, we have to remember we were missing half our damn guys. Actually, it reminded me of the game last year when we blew them out and they were missing a bunch of their guys. Same deal.

What I'm trying to say is; that wasn't the "old" Chiefs out there. We lost a game, but it wasn't the "old" Chiefs.

Stay positive. All will be well in the end.

What's legit sad is that they spent $50M on an ILB, traded for one of the better slot CB's in the league, spent an entire draft on defense, brought in a baker's dozen of new defensive backs, and fired the LB coach and replaced him with TWO new coaches and the defense is not just worse, it's significantly worse.

That's the definition of sad.

Down Houston and Berry and a whole other slew of JAGoffs, we took their best shots, and lost by 3 points at their house. I'm not going to get too torn up over that. If the trade deadline passes and Veach just sits with his thumbs up his ass, then I might start to get concerned.

The 2003 team wasn't the "old" Chiefs at the time. The 2013 team was the "old" Chiefs either. Yet somehow the results were exactly the same.
