The running theory is that the refs - who hate Cal/UK and want to see them lose - called all the fouls so that the PJ kid was shooting free throws. They did this because they knew he would miss them and UK would lose. This theory is backed up with the fact that no UK player has shot 20 free throws in a game since 1999 & that no UK player has shot 20 free throws in a tourney game since 1961. Not only that, but they were calling fouls that others were supposed to be shooting, but still put PJ at the line

In the boards defense, most of the people think the guy is on crack, but it's funny nonetheless.

Refs trick UK

UK fans never disappoint.

From that UK Board thread:

"Same thing I thought OP. I'd like to see the FBI do a probe into college officiating. I remember the same play you mentioned where SGA got fouled, but they sent Washington to the line instead. I believe a lot of refs have agendas, certain schools they give the benefit of the whistle, certain schools that they shaft, and they intentionally try to keep games close to the spread."

I remember suggesting here that we let Bail hire Webber to do the game coaching, while Bail handles everything else. And that made people laugh.

Brooth has always been a damn good game coach.

Don't forget that Weber tied for the Big 12 (despite losing to KU 3 times)with Martin's recruits. I have no doubt that Martin could have done the same with those players he recruited. Hell, Bruce took Self's recruits all the way to the championship game in his 2nd year at Illinois. The guy can coach. He just can't recruit nearly as well. And recruiting is part of being a good coach. All that being said, neither of those guys is on Bill Self's level.

I don't know, dude. I think it'll be pretty brilliant to put Udoka at the perimeter and have him stand there vacantly for most possessions. Our opponents would never see it coming.

Now see if Calipari had done that their big wouldn't have shot 20 free throws and they would have won. So I think you are on to something...
