Also, jettison Britt Reid while you're at it. Since when is that dude qualified to be the defensive line coach of an NFL team? He's not even qualified to coach DL at the college level, much less the NFL.

I think Sutton is a decent-to-good DC, BUT his scheme is stale and we need a change in this area. However, knowing that both Reid and Hunt value stability above damn near anything else, I think the Nagy/Bienemy deal is just about all the change these guys can handle. Which is, of course, part of the whole stinking problem with this franchise....WE ARE JUST TOO CAREFUL.

We want everything perfectly clear before making significant decisions and changes. Hells/bells, look how long it took Hunt to notice and react to Pioli’s schtick (the guy might still be here if planes and banners didn’t fly)! I sincerely doubt Hunt or Reid see the DC position in such disarray that a change is needed.

Verderame posted a bunch of gifs from the Titans game of our DIME defense against 11 personnel. The DL alignments were putrid and it is amazing how easily The Titans O-line countered the pre-snap looks and checked into power/counter runs to create huge lanes.

Buttons is overmatched and Britt Reid has no business as a position coach. What’s worse is how technically unsound these players are. Soft, poor tacklers. Db’s that take poor angles and inefficient drops. Linemen who cannot shed - it is all so easy to see in any given game. This staff is poor at fundamental teaching.

I pray Andy knows this and makes a move to change the culture, but the Bieniemy hire is a signal that they think all is well at Arrowhead, and the “we need to be better” mantra that is never backed up will live on.

Pettine, Fangio, Bradley off the market.

I hold a flicker of hope that Spags or Pagano end up in KC through some miracle....

You don't replace the architect of a unit that gave up 18.3 PPG over the last half of the season.

You just don't. Not when you crave stability for your young QB.

Bobby Slay is going to stick around and continue the defensive revival he's started. With a couple new chess pieces and the return of our big swinging dick at safety, the league won't know what hit them.
