Chiefs Keep doubting CEH - Page 20

Yup, it's time to go there.

Clyde is being sold below guys on our practice squad (mOrE GOre!!). The Mayocks of CP are coming out of the woodwork to revisit the draft and the 'wasted' first round pick on a RB. He's slow. He's unathletic. He has no vision. He can't pass block. He completely sucks.

I'm not sold on this narrative.

Fumble was inexcusable but highly atypical. Guy has struggled with vision this year. But he flashed early last year. He's still figuring out this OL and the Chiefs are still figuring out how to use him in this system. He was named the MVP of the best college (spread) offense I think we might ever see. He has talent. Just needs to re-find his groove.

I'm not giving up on him as we've seen Reid do more with a lot less. And I think Clyde is primed to turn it up from here.

So, not a homer take. Just a take that's being less pessimistic after a difficult loss. Let this be a safe space for those who haven't given up on Clyde.

I only complained one time about Clyde and that was when he had blockers out in front on a pass play and decided to just run by them instead of use them. I couldn't see the whole field but it looked like he might've scored.

And it was still a great play and a good gain, so it's a minor gripe.

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. McKinnon may be used sparingly in the regular season. Pacheco still seems raw and Andy doesn’t like playing guys until he’s fully sure they can handle pass pro. There are reasons beyond talent why ceh would get first pick and I agree with them. Come playoff time unless ceh keeps showing out I think McKinnon still gets you more of the consistent chunk gains we need and Pacheco has the upside to be better.

Pacheco needs to make the most of his opportunities and not run into the backs of his linemen in short yardage. People have talked as nauseum about his vision or lack thereof - it showed up last night

Also, I didn’t say CEH was the most talented back on the roster. He’s the best option they have, that’s all

While this very well may be true, the notion that we're saving him for the playoffs and worried about him getting hurt took a hit (pun intended) when they ran him out there as a blocker on the kickoff return team for the entire AZ game. I'm assuming he was out there again last night but I didn't notice.

I see why McKinnon has an injury history and it's not because of his running. It's cause he's a tiny dude but blocks people likes he's Derrick Henry

. That shit is impressive honestly. But I'm pretty sure his body hates him for his willingness to do it.

Yeah there is more to being a RB than being big and athletic although thats alot of it.

Yes it did. IIRC, if he slid either just a tad left or right he had a chance at the first down, but he just barreled right up the guy where they were waiting for him. He'll get better at that with experience (I'm hoping).

Yeah, he doesn't back down at all. Love it, but I'm sure it takes a toll on him. Hopefully he can stay available all season, and with the way they're rotating the backs, he has a chance.
