Chiefs Salary Cap 2024 - Moves to be made

Clearly, MVS should and will be cut June 1st which frees up about $11M. There are ways to restructure Mahomes, Thuney and Kelce potentially. The question here is, can the Chiefs find enough room to sign Sneed, Jones, Tranquill and Gay and still sign a top tier WR? I believe the 24 cap is going to increase a well.

Cap gurus, what other move can be made here?

Because that dude has UNICORN physical tools. Guys that strong shouldn't be that fast. And he's agile to boot. Hell, watch the guy jump - it's DB stuff.

I hate hate hate even the small possibility that he goes somewhere else and puts it all together because I'm not kidding when I say he has HoF physical traits.

But I just don't know how much faith you can put in that happening at this point. But if I were Veach I don't think I'd be able to let him walk. The tools are just too loud and at the very worst the energy he brings is a real thing.
It all depends what he wants, you can't go nuts on paying off ball LBs.

It does..but it creates a hole because you'd lose him and Edwards, that's a ton of snaps.

I could easily see an extension that drops his cap $.

I'd extend Reid, but I'm either way on it.

Gay is a better player than Tranquill, even if he doesn't develop further. He's more physical, he's faster, he's thicker, he's more violent and he brings more energy and he's already an established leader on this defense.

Tranq is another CP hype darling. There's simply no ****ing way you can watch both these players and come away thinking Tranq is the better signing assuming salaries are equal or close to.

Nah. He's slowing down already. S, like RB, is a young man's position.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Gay is a lot more flashy than Tranquill is, and he should be his athletic numbers are off the charts, LBs don't test that way.

Tranquill is more steady and consistent.

Couldn't disagree more. I think Gay is a much better talent and it's not really close. Tranq is a smart, heady player. But Gay brings energy and physicality that Tranq simply doesn't match.

Don't know and don't care. He's starting to slow down already. He's been in the league for what, 7+ seasons by now?
