Into showing dogs and shit. Love her like a sister and she takes care of my dogs, but she’s very serious about shit. Which makes her successful I guess. sec

I really thought the story was gonna end with the Opossum jumping out of your truck as it had been playing dead all along!

My cats do shit like that on a smaller scale. Although aside from the usual assortment of mice and chipmunks, recently we've "gotten" two headless rabbits and half a squirrel left for us.....in our foyer. Thanks kitties.

Sec and DJ talking about weight of their K9 pals got me thinking about mine, he just turned 3 the other day and also right in that 125# range. His dad is a European stock Red Doberman who goes 115 and his momma is a Cane Corso who is 140. I’ve used Alaskan salmon oil omega 3 this stuff
https://www.vitalpetlife.com/product...-and-cats-16oz Used it since he was a pup to keep his joints healthy being a large breed pup but you can use it on all sizes. Nice shiny coat. No joint problems, good for their heart and all sorts other health benefits omega 3 provides. You 2 guys got all that stuff covered with great vets it sounds like. Just thought I’d drop a note cause I’m impressed with the stuff plenty of brands out there with salmon oil just the one I use. Also elk antler and beef pipe bones from the butcher is great for his teeth in my experience. Great big pups are so much fun!

Last vet check up and shot updates he got two hard boiled eggs before the vet appointment. Mastiff or even half mastiff farts are glorious by themselves but add a couple eggs… Vet, vet tech and vet student assistant all 3 had to leave the room their nose and eyes burning so bad. I just smiled like a proud papa repeatedly saying good boy with my shirt covering my nose and mouth so I didn’t pass out

Possums do have some good traits but I have a sister that is really tired of them killing her chickens. I have a friend with two giant chocolate labs both well over 100 lbs, Bosco and Fred. His dog food bill makes me cringe, we discussed it a while back. Recently he had to spend about $7000 on hip surgery for one of them. I often wonder if it isn't due to so much weight, as he said they are now going to have to operate on the other one. |

I’ve often wondered when you see 2 dead possums on the road. Which one stopped to eat the other?

I had a summer where 3 possums came to my back yard to die. All in the same same 10'x10' patch of yard. Walk out the back door turn the corner and there's a body. I was worried that somehow my yard had become some death destination place for them. Fortunately that was the end of it. They fit well in a standard kitchen trash bag, but if they croak on Friday, and trash pickup day is Thursday, plus 90+ degree days, it gets a bit ripe at the dumpster.

Opossums are an alien, big rat looking animal.
They don't call it "playing possum" for nothing. As you laid out your story, I was expecting it come back to life. With or without the blood. I live in the country. I don't know how many times the dogs have left a possum on the driveway. Yep dead. Nope, not dead. Kinda freaky. The weirdest story on possums: I have some large fresh water fish tanks. I was in a Petco store in St Joe buying fish. I like to people watch, especially in pet stores. There was this strange older lady with a stroller rummaging around the store. Very strange women. I watched. I was thinking it aint a kid in the stroller. She looks like a "cat" person. I kept watching and after 30 min, she pulls out a possum! Floored me. He/she/it was quite friendly. Made strange noises. The lady let other people hold it. Quite fascinating. I guess they can make good pets. Dunno. On a side note, I wouldn't mind a 'coon around the place. On either, not sure they can be house trained. I will stick to dogs and cats (course fish too). |
