I actually didn't vote for Chris Jones. It seems like I should, but he's AWOL on 99 percent of plays. The challenge, though, is that by design he's being double or triple teamed on every play because of that freaking two-man front.
All in all, I think the best players on our defense right now are: 1. Allen Bailey. 2. Orlando Scandrick 3. Dee Ford

Shouldn't talk bad on Jones, he was playing against a world-class interior line tonight.

Hitchens is sure earning that $14M signing bonus. Another overpaid defensive player.

Hitchens, Ragland and Williams were Veach's answers to stopping the run.
Not sure what we do now. |

Jones, Bailey, Ford and Lucas.
Houston out again, hasn't done a whole hell of a lot since the $100 mill contract. He needs to play like a freaking DMVP or it's not adequate. Definitely could have used him tonight though.

Defensive line needs to make more plays. Linebackers need to attack and play down hill and secondary have to come and fill gaps/make tackles.

Just think what a difference EB would have made had he not have some sort of heel issue. I mean he is a difference maker and play maker and just what this defense could rally around making the others step it up a notch.
I just don't get how someone has so many setbacks with all the talent that he is. |

So to summarize, more than half of us feel that we've got one adequate lineman (Jones), one adequate linebacker (Ford), and one adequate safety (Lucas). A solid minority (25%+) also think that we have a second and third lineman (Bailey and Nnadi), second linebacker (Houston) and cornerback (Scandrick) who are solid.
So our big holes are ILB (we need two), CB (we need one), and S (we need one). Get on it, Veach. And give Niemann a shot.
