***Official AAF Discussion Thread***
The first games of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) are this weekend. I haven't followed it and at this point I'm not that interested. However, a friend called me all excited. He said CBS will be carrying all the games... that seems interesting. I seen an NFL Network logo on the AAF website... that seems interesting.

What's your take? Is your DVR set? Why should I care?

My fan theory is the money behind the AAF has an inkling the 'amateur athlete' dog in the NCAA ain't gonna hunt no more and they're going to position themselves as a destination for the occasional one-and-done capable recruits and top JUCO guys to play a year and gain draft eligibility.

That's my understanding. They want to test new tech/rules and use it as a farm system. They aim to have a team in all 32 team markets.

I talked to a buddy today that made it through 2 rounds of marketing head interviews.
