No, I think the vast majority would like that to be the plan. There is just a very vocal minority that wants us to trade for Hopkins. If they get OBJ, the. It's going to be for cheap and they'll still.get a guy in the draft.

I have a feeling that they have a guy or 2 they really like in the draft and are willing to move up for him or they really are content with who they have and believe that they can keep Toney healthy and they like what they see out of Moore.

The defense will be even better.

The idea is that the young guys are gelling and you've got a better group come the stretch run.

They will draft somebody early either way. The group will be full of young talent, and they'll learn and grow throughout the season.
Do we get to use the "Andy's playbook is too hard" excuse or if they produce to we get to say Skyy was a slow learner?

I am pretty excited about the direction of our defense, for sure. Bolton went God-mode in the SB.... CJ is CJ.... the young secondary mostly held their own... we are now faster at edge and also have a swiss army knife LB over the JAG we had last year....

Things are looking up.

I think they need to go heavy on offense and weapons this draft. This will always be an offensive squad while Andy and Pat are here, so steer into that skid.

It would’ve taken our second round pick. And that assumes that they would even trade with us. If they think they’re Super Bowl contenders with Rodgers, then they aren’t helping us out.

Id rather have the pick anyway.

Well seeing as how this is a completely different hypothetical scenario where the Chiefs would be counting on the rookie to play early as opposed to burying them on the depth chart, no. Not for Andy and Veach at least.

Andy said that they were expecting Skyy abs Toney to step up and it sure looks like they’ve stood on that thus far

That's the direction they should go. No sense drafting these dudes if you aren't gonna play em

What if I told you that you could trade for DHop and still have other WR's on the field?

Hmm.
Dalton Kincaid could easily function as a possession 1 WR in this offense.

I would be content with a marquez callaway and a draft pick if we’re being honest. Not thrilled but content. I think the OBJ and Dhop hard onss are just because people want to see the 2018 offense again. If our D continues to gel as last years draft class grows, we won’t be seeing anything like the 2018 offense for at least 5 years. I think this is the year to infuse the next group into the offense like they did the defense last year.

ESPN is suggesting:

Possible deal: Two years, $19 million with the Chiefs. Kansas City is transitioning along the D-line. Frank Clark was released, Carlos Dunlap is a free agent and Chris Jones is entering the final year of his deal. George Karlaftis, a first-rounder in 2022, is going to play a bigger role -- and the team added Charles Omenihu in free agency -- but it could add at least one more pass-rusher to its rotation.

Ngakoue's consistency could appeal to a Kansas City team that didn't always get that sort of reliability from Clark before the postseason.

I like it!
