Jaylen Watson needs to develop, Josh Williams will need some time and Lonnie Johnson is ass.

Get this defense Ingram and Bradberry and I’m pumped

Sure….but then who starts?

McDuffie and Bradberry outside with Snead in the slot? What do you do with Fenton?

11 personnel is pretty much the standard now for offenses so you pretty much need 3 starting corners.

I’d go Sneed, Bradberry and McDuffie with Fenton rotating in. Williams and Johnson as depth.

I’ll be honest I don’t want Baker making this team.

Fenton's a good corner. I hope he gets his chance. Dude makes a lot of plays and plays aggressive. Only knock might be his health.

I can get behind Baker not making this team. Just hope Watson can make the PS for a season.

Baker already isn't making the team.

Throwing more FA money at corner when you just drafted a shitload of them and your DL is lacking isn't the way I'd go.

I just can't see the team throwing more money at another cb after this past weekend.

Are they going to keep 9 or 10 DBs?

Having 4 solid corners (or a 3rd safety that can also play corner) seems desirable against today's offenses. I mean...we can't just keep thinking in the traditional positional alignments anymore. Safeties act as LB's at times...sometimes as CB's...and CB's sometimes play a safety role. Mix and match creates advantages for the defense. I think the Bengals did this well against us in the AFCCG. To me, signing Bradberry would give us maximum flex in moving guys around while also letting McDuffie, Cook and Williams develop naturally (not to mention, push other guys off the roster while Watson and Nazeeh might be stashed on the PS).

Along the same lines, the cry that we already have too many DB's, but we didn't get enough pass rush because we didn't draft anymore than one EDGE largely ignores the rush/blitz potential of McDuffie and Chenal. As long as we get a pass rush, I don't care which position it comes from. Mix and match and versatility seems to be the priority from what I'm seeing. Having said that, I'm all for them adding to line depth in the coming days.

You don't want to have to blitz McDuffie all the time....and Chenal is more of an inside rusher than an edge type guy.

This team still needs more help at the DE position.

I agree...I'm not saying they're going to rush him all the time. I'm just saying the Corner and Safety blitz is likely more useful today than it was last year. If we get more pass rush from that approach next year, then our pass rush is improved. If Chenal means our LB's get more pass rush than before...maybe like DJ used to do...then great. Again...I'm all for them also adding some line depth as well.

Lonnie Johnson played well at CB in college and at this level. He is not a safety which the Texans tried to force him to do. That is the reason he wanted out of Houston.

Oh I fully expect Spags to come up with some blitz packages including McDuffie, Snead, Gay or Chenal.
