I think it's exciting that we finally have a QB good enough to earn some of that favorable bullshit that other teams have benefited from.

The best loss for PMII's development. No shame losing in Fox borough. Hell of a good try in second half

Kind of? Every time I come back and see this thread, I say to myself, kind of?
To beat us, it took: a last-drive comeback, the best QB in NFL history, the best coach in NFL history, being in their stadium, 0 penalties, us having multiple starting OL and defenders out, and Mahomes making uncharacteristic, not-likely-to-be-repeated first half mistakes. I'm ****ing pumped to keep wrecking the league. |

I do like that the prevalent media take is that this is setting up an epic rematch. Lesser Chiefs teams would have been (usually rightfully) called frauds.
Nobody thought the Steelers loss last year was setting up an epic rematch, that's for sure. |

You knew when the NFL ran the teaser ad for the game about a QB that plays the game like a video game the viewers were in for a treat and they did not disappoint.

I look at it this way.
-Patriots were jacked up for this game -We had a bunch of key injuries -We had 4 legit chances at TD's in the first half and GOT 9 POINTS!!!! -Mahomes looked poor and handed Brady 7 points(If you consider that play essentially a score for the Pats defense, and I don't think that's a major stretch, then the Pats defense scored 7 points in the first half and we scored 9. Thats a net of 2 POINTS!) -We got FG's and they got TD's Yet we literally were tied and even winning in the 4th quarter. That says something. Look, we all want to win. But I'm thinking about this. Imagine if we play them again in KC in the playoffs. How jacked up will our crowd be, our team be, if we have a second chance? Or even if we play them in NE? I think about the opposite. If we beat them, how tough would it be to do it a 3rd time in a row? I try not to kid myself, and of course I want to win. Would be great to be 2.5 games up in the division and a big lead for the 1 seed. But is it not possible that for a team like KC it's better to have the pressure off if we play them again? The most encouraging part of this game is how much went wrong, with who was out, for us to still be tied with 3 minutes left. I also loved how Brady sprinted to Mahomes after the game. Complete conjecture here but it came off to me like he knows what Mahomes will eventually be. |
