If you want a starting LT that is a trade up.

It's cute that people honestly think this is even a remote possibility for us.
Jefferson isn't going anywhere, and there are way too many teams picking much higher than the Chiefs for us to get him anyways. |

Would honestly consider moving Taylor to LT. Believe he said he could do it.
Think Morris is a perfect swing tackle. Not sure he's a starter though. Getting a cheap RT for 4 years balances the OL spending

Two of those are purely RTs (Latham, Fuaga) One looks like a solid LT but has played alot of RT (Guyton) One has 8 games of collegiate starting experience, all at RT, and is raw as hell (Mims) One is most likely a guard convert (Fautanu) but will be a great guard. One looks the part but has some development to go (Suamataia) and is the one I'd peg as most likely. So really, you have maybe 2 options within reach, Guyton and Suamataia. Are those guys markedly better than Kiran Amegadjie or Javon Foster in round 2? We'll have to see but I think I'd take my chances if I can land a marquee prospect like Jefferson. Like was said, we're not really shooting for an incredible prospect if we can win with Brown and Smith anchoring those spots. Hell, I'd have half a mind to give in to DJ's wishes and move Taylor to LT and take Blake Fisher for my RT at the end of 2. It's just not all that paramount that we have elite play there, as much as I'd like to see it. And let's face it, if Pat is throwing to Jefferson, Rice, and Kelce, someone is getting open quickly. |

RT's go at 32.
Taylor may do it, they may have to move him to LT, but it's unlikely they get a day 1 guy at 32. |

There is absolutely zero reason to believe it's not a possibility. The proof is already out there. We made the trade to Miami. There is also no reason we can't afford him. It may be slimmer than say, Houston trading for him but we could and they are a regular trade partner with KC.

It’s fun to think about Jefferson catching balls from Mahomes, but does this really make any sense for us? We traded away Tyreek and won two Super Bowls by redeploying that savings towards defense. Reversing that and losing someone like Bolton, Jones, Sneed, Creed or someone would be at odds with what has made us successful. We are the rare team that does not need a superstar WR to have a prolific offense because we have Mahomes. Get a WR in the draft, another in free agency, and keep the money and the picks for other uses.

It's a hell of a lot slimmer margins making this trade bc it's gonna be at least 2 1sts, a 2nd and probably a day 3 pick considering how late we pick. Then we're paying him $30 million+ per year?
Yeah...trading valuable assets and setting your cap on fire with no cheap players for a few years seems fun. The trade and pay stuff ain't happening with Mahomes making what he's making.

We could actually have a ton of money with a Mahomes restructure and MVS cut this year. 19.7 fits in easily. Room to do much more as well. |

It’s a fun idea, it’d be the storyline of the whole offseason…
But every time I think about the cost I get cold feet. It’s just too much for one player, even the best WR in the league. We’ve won two Super Bowls in a row without a marquee wide out. Should we try to improve at the position? Absolutely. But there’s zero evidence that this is what we need to win championships. In fact, the evidence shows the contrary. |

That point where the Jefferson cap skyrockets, though (and he's probably looking for at least $35M AAV) is when not having a 2024 1st and not having a 2025 1st and missing a 3rd and a 4th starts to show up on your roster. So you've got holes from those lack of picks that you are trying to plug, too.

Now you're good and well ****ed. The money is paid regardless and you've set 2 first rd picks, a second and a day 3 pick on fire to acquire him weakening the team being unable to draft cheap talented players. That's the kinda thing that ruins a dynasty. At that point you're going through what the Broncos are going through, which would make Patrick's life harder. Trust your GM. Gain flexibility and keep drafting well
