Look the only reason I’m on here is the insistence of your fan base to attack Lamar like there can’t be two perennial mvp caliber players in the nfl at the same time. He’s 23 years old and is already one of the best players in the league.
Completely ignored my post. I specifically said “as a passer”, which is absolutely true to this point.

Here are his passing stats against the better teams he played last season:

KC: 267, 0 TDs, 0 Ints, 70.6 Rating
PIT: 161, 1 TD, 3 Ints, 54.9 Rating
SEA: 143, 0 TD, 0 Ints, 69.4 Rating (45% Comp)
NE: 163, 1 TD, 0 Ints, 107.7 Rating
SF: 105, 1 TD, 0 Ints, 86.3 Rating
Buf: 145, 3 TD, 1 Ints 102.5
Ten: 365, 1 TD, 2 Ints, 63.2 Rating (59 attempts, 52% Comp)

A couple of okay passing performances against NE and Buffalo, but a lot of meh in there too.

Yes, he was great against the Browns in Week 1. He was also great against the Browns in Week 15 last year too. Just like he was great against the Dolphins, Texans, Rams, and Jets last year.

It’s pedestrian because we don’t pass as much. His completion % and td rate are both elite. Down field passing (20+ yds down field) is definitely an area he needed to improve on last year and, it’s early, but so far he’s much better with the deep ball.

Common postseason opponent last year:

Titans - Chiefs scored 35 en route to winning the Super Bowl. The Ravens scored 12 and their season ended.

Let's talk again in 5 years when he still hasn't won shit and he can't run around like he does now.

Like you said, small sample size. Of course he's efficient. He doesn't have to pass as much.

Everyone plays better against worse competition, not gonna argue that fact. An important note, that I’m sure will be received well bc it’s technically an excuse, is that the Seattle and 49ers games were played in essentially hurricanes. You could hardly see much less throw the ball downfield. So we did what we do best and ran the hell outta the ball.

It’s crazy that I have to convince people that Lamar is a good passer but here we are.

Lamar is a decent QB/RB, but we've seen this movie before, and we know how it ends. He will injure a knee, a foot, or an achilles, and he'll never be the same player again, because his arm isn't good enough on its own.

I'd call him an average passer, if he ****ed up his knee and had to play from the pocket without running he wouldn't be successful.

So is he a good passer? Or is he "one of the best in the league"?

You know there's a BIG difference right?

Lamar has been really ****ing good. I’m tired of all these chiefs fans saying he’s not. He’s a top 5 QB in the NFL. He has improved a lot this year. He isn’t taking as many hits because he’s throwing more and his completion percentage is 77%. However Lamar doesn’t do so well when the lights are the brightest. He is 0-2 he Mahomes and 0-2 in the first round of the playoffs they have played. It’s gonna be a good game but Chiefs 34- Ravens 30

Jackson hasn’t proven himself as a passer against a true contender or in the postseason. Until he does, it’s absolutely fair to question if he’s a good passer.

Just like it was absolutely fair to question if Mahomes could win “the big one” until he did.

The guy plays in a scheme that is custom-tailored to his skill set. You couldn't just drop Lamar Jackson onto any team in the league and have him play the way he does now.

Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand...
