What did I get? I got to witness my dog die. Her diagnosis of stomach cancer was confirmed yesterday, and she was in good spirits. We could expect her to live another month or two, but she only survived 1 more day. She died at the vet of "natural" causes (she was 6 years old), while the vet was preparing to euthanize her.
My last dog died on Thanksgiving Day. I'm not getting another dog. I'm afraid of what Easter might bring. |

Take some time, but get back in the saddle, please. We're dog/pet people, and we love our dogs so much, that's why it rips our hearts out when they pass. Just some sound friendly advise.

My grandfather had a large roll top desk in his office at the John Deere dealership he owned. I used to sit in his office for hours as a kid/teenager and visit with him about life. I loved that desk and when he passed away it was the only thing of his I really wanted. My uncle ended up getting grandpa’s desk and I made it known I would buy it from him if he ever decided he didn’t want it anymore.
My uncle died from Leukemia in April. This morning we had a knock on the door and when I went to the door there was the desk. My aunt and her two oldest sons were standing on my porch. They told me they remembered how much I loved that desk and that they wanted me to have it. The boys helped bring it into my house and then they asked me to open the top. When I opened the top, inside was a wrapped present. I opened the present and it was a framed picture of me and my grandpa sitting in his office. I’m not ashamed to say I cried like a baby when I saw the picture. This is by far the best Christmas present I have ever received. |

wife's in the kitchen cooking. i'll head up to the nursing home to pick up great uncle ernie and bring him down for a couple hours so he can play the guitar for everyone. most of the company will show up around 2pm for the meal and to open gifts. take ernie home, then come back and burn boxes and wrapping paper while drinking adult beverages.
Merry Christmas! sec

My family gathered around my bedroom window at first light and watched me send a coyote to hell on Christmas morning.
