*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition! No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

I still don't understand who is being cheated or why you care what someone else is putting in their body if doesnt effect you. These guys arent knocking up a 7 eleven to cover that $50 cost for 10 weeks of their testosterone.

I guess someone suffering from hypothyroidism is cheating by taking synthroid to lose weight?

Just got back from the Midwest...I completed RAGBRAI, including the 100 mile day, with ancillary riding, giving me 515 miles on the bike in 7 days. It was what I've been training for and was my goal in losing weight.
Down to 238 from my high of 420, and looking for my next goal to train for. Just an amazing week. I'm less in awe of me than I am the people who drink all day long and night and manage to bike that many miles across Iowa, honestly. Wow! |

Douchebags who aren't lifting for shit in terms of form are still jacked the **** up, guys lollygagging around the gym yoked, etc. Yeah, you can tell which guys are being pussies and aren't putting in the real work to look that way and yeah, I'm a bit jealous that they can look like that because they are on the gear versus completely busting their ass. You can put on 10 lbs. of muscle without doing a single thing on gear. Don't have to lift at all and you'll still add muscle. Yeah, that's being a pussy cheater in my book. |

been working w/ a trainer for about 5 weeks now - 2 times per week - plus bootcamp - additionally working out on my own another 2 times per week.
It's been so long I don't know where to start, but I've gained an inch in my chest - lost an inch on my waist. Also I've increased my bench by 40#'s or so, which I was surprised (more than anything) Doing well in that regard. Just trying to figure out what people 42 do in their spare time when they're single. It's a pretty awkward age socially, for me at least. |

Your comparing guys on TRT (this thread) to guys at your gym running multiple compounds. TRT is meant to bring you into the upper range of your natural test production limit, hence the replacement part. Now the guys taking upwards of a gram a week, with additional anabolic/androgenic compounds, are going to LOSE a lot of that weight because your body NEEDS the elevated hormone levels to hold on to all that muscle. depending on how low you are, 100-300mg/week will get you into the upper range of natural limits. If you are ALREADY at a high level, and you take a TRT level does, your body STOPS producing test, and you have to replace exogenously. So I played around with this shit a LOT in college playing football, and I offer one very important piece of advice to ANYONE who wants to supplement with this stuff. One you go on, your on for life. Anyone built like a brick shithouse will tell you the same thing. Once you come off, your hormone levels drop, and you will lose a good amount of that size/strength. I see all these posts from kids like "how do I keep mah gainzz" after cycle.. you dont. You stay on, also known as "blast and cruise". Anyway the PROS of TRT/HRT: Reduce fat and increase muscle Improve your concentration Maintain sleep and feel more rested Maintain bone density/strength Increase strength and athletic performance Improve mood Improve insulin sensitivity Improve erectile function Heighten your motivation Increase your sense of well-being possibly REDUCE risk of cardiovascular disease CONS frequent doctor visits early on to get estrogen levels balanced out insurance may not cover all of the price Not sure how old you are Sacc, but I turned 36 this year and have been on TRT since 32. Conceived two beautiful little girls while 'on' too so dont think it messes with fertility issues. I'm not the biggest dude in the gym, but got pretty big when I was focusing on competing in powerlifting a couple years back. Now I am dabbling in the bodybuilding side and enjoying it more than powerlifting (sorry lewdog). |
