It was his family's business wasn't it? I'm sure he has a stake in it but I dont think he could have just sold everything on his own.

Like I said earlier. Avery could of killed Halbach but it didn't happen the way the prosecution said it did and they messed up the evidence so badly that we may never know. They also managed to railroad a complete innocent in Brendan Dassey as I believe there was no evidence actually linking him to the crime other then his 'confession'.

They never cleared up how her blood got in the back of the Rav4.

Yeah, I believe it was a family business. either way, none of them were very bright.

Didn't have the resources. His reimbursement from the state was in the works at the time of the murder.

If I'm a killer and I want to set someone up.. Who better than Avery, a guy with a lawsuit against the cops? A guy who although was found innocent clearly didn't have the best reputation in town and clearly was not well liked.

This hasn't been discussed as much as it should have. How hard would it be to pull off this murder/rape and set Avery up? I think if you a smart killer or a cop (not saying one of the cops committed rape/murder but hey you never know) it honestly wouldn't be that hard.. It'd take a lot of thinking and planning but it is doable..

Anyone else agree?

If the corrupt cops did anything, assuming Avery didnt do it, my theory is the cops found her in the Rav 4 elsewhere. Hence, cop calling in her plate 2 days before it was found. They wipe down the car, burn her body in the quarry. Transfer everthing to Avery's. Grab blood from evidence and put it in the car. Plant key and bullet etc later.

My theory if Avery did do it: corrupt cops plant key and bullet to able to charge Avery.

The only legit evidence was the bones in a fire pit.

At no time during the NETFLIX series did I see anyone touch on how the soil/mud/clay/surroundings would have an impact on the bones depending where they were burned. Where they were burned would be important.

Also he was on the way to a huge settlement. It seems odd to celebrate such a moment by raping and killing a woman after finally being found innocent.

And what is the motive? Why would he kill a woman he met with often and the family made money with?...

Avery's new lawyer has been slamming the evidence in his case on her twitter and frankly a lot of what she says makes perfect sense.

I can't see how this case went through all of the appellate courts, and still wasn't at least given a new trial.

His rape appellate lawyers put it best...... the system is set up to perpetuate a conviction.

If this is an attempt at a joke, it's not funny at all. You probably wouldn't last one month in a state prison. Steve Avery did 18 years for something he didn't do...

Did he do the other crime? I have no idea. But regardless, lets not make jokes out of peoples lives... This isn't football man, 18 years is a long time. You go in when you are 22 you come out when you are 40... You do the math for the rest of the ages... Its not something that I find funny, at all.

Christ, the FBI didn't even have a minimum detection threshold on their test for EDTA. That makes the test pretty useless.

Of course, we know now that the FBI crime lab has skirted actual scientific testing more than bit and tends to overstate what their testing actually proves.
