A LOT of optimism about the program right now. Beaty is doing an amazing job, IMO.
That's great! Nice to hear there is optimism.

KU also have several transfer students coming in. They sat out last season and are able to play in the upcoming one. One is a former 5-star DT that originally signed with Alabama and a WR from the Tide as well. Saban tried very hard to convince the WR to not leave.

Beaty is slowly getting the water bailed out. I cannot believe how well the staff is recruiting Louisiana all of a sudden. Even though KU didn't get all the recruits they wanted, they were in on several of big name guys, even getting some visits.... and by big name guys i'm talking top 200 players in the country... Which KU rarely ever even gets a sniff from let alone visits and making it down to the final 3-5 in their lists. That doesn't change the program, but it's certainly an indicator of the recruiting strides being shown in that area of the country. The ATH (Travis) KU landed was one of those recruits. Mike Lee (KU's Freshman All-American Safey from last year) was also from Louisiana.

These guys were from LA as well, but they are 2018 class. I will be thankful if only 1 of the 3 kids make it on campus.... that's a loooooong time for a program like KU to hang on to them.

Glad to hear KU football is making strides. I want to see a bowl game this season. I know that's easier said than done with the shit show that Weis left us. It will be nice if in the next year or two KU starts to get back to being a regular top 25 bowl team.

ya... unless something extreme happens, KU won't be headed to a bowl. You have to remember it wasn't just Weis... It started in Mangino's last year. He left the team crumbling. Radio came in and cleaned house... and then didn't bring in any quality to replace what he was clearing out... then Weis came in and cleaned house AGAIN of just about anything of value. This program didn't just fall on its collective face. It was in a crackhouse with needles hanging out of its arms when Beaty took over. We're currently in rehab and you just don't recover from that type of condition quickly. Just to get competitive was going to take 3+ years away. That's how absolutely DEVOID this team was of true D1 talent. Sure, there were a couple of guys here and there... but for the most part it was really, really bad. Weis either kicked off or asked players to leave to the point that I believe at one point we were running at less than two-thirds strength of actual scholarship players...and of those players, less than half are guys that we'd want on the team were we at full strength. That's just taking into consideration the talent level of players that should be on a Big Conference school scholarship list. Not considering whether they should be starting or not. Cause a lot of them ended up starting and were not close to being ready\prepared. Hence the epic failure.

We're just now starting to get pieces back into the program and developed to where we might start getting competitive again in another year. But that is still an uphill battle.

Days like Saturday go a long way to speed that process up.

KU is raking LA right now because they hired a prominent NOLA high school coach by the name of Tony Hull. He is now the RB coach at KU. The LA haul is 100% due to him.

Just signing these 7 kids and no-one else (leaving 18 additional schollies on the table) would still be the best Recruiting class the school has ever had.
