2019 Free agency Thread

We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

Unfortunately, I'm convinced they're keeping Berry no matter what. They just love him.

Step 1: Cut Houston, Cut Berry, Trade Ford.

Step 2: Sign Collins and Flowers.

Step 3: Draft corner and free safety in first two rounds. Draft RB in the third.

Step 4: Extend Jones and Hill next offseason.

Step 5: Extend Mahomes the year after.

Win Super Bowl.

Repeat.

That’s better than Josh Allen and Nathan Peterman

Just because of how the market was last year, I really hope the Chiefs don't break the bank on him. I'd like to have him, but I don't want to overpay. I don't dislike Watts and there are some good FS options in the draft, if your'e not cutting Berry then I'd be pretty happy rolling with Watts Berry Lucas Murray Rookie.

I also think many of you are miss-remembering the AFCCG, just because Berry gave up that one key catch late in the game to Gronk. He wasn't even in a terrible position or get beat badly on that play, yet the narrative is he was "abused all game by Gronk"? He gave up two receptions total all game, people who think Sorenson played well that game and Berry played badly are just remembering the highlights. Sorenson gave up 3 receptions to Gronk, one more than Berry.

Gronk abused Berry when Berry had his best year.

Gronk has abused just about everybody.

That said, Berry didn't look game-speed. I guess that happens when you sit out like 15 weeks.

Is that kind of output worth 12m per though? In Spags system the highest he's ever been ranked in pass coverage was 15th, the next highest? 24th.

I don't know. Amos is much better than him in coverage, if I have the option of Amos + Savage vs Collins + Adderley

I can definitely see a case for Collins being made, just wonder if there aren't much better options around.
