The Official 2022 FIFA World Cup Thread

YOUNG AMERICANS
The USMNT was by far the youngest team to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, garnering valuable experience going through the rigors of World Cup qualifying. Through 14 qualifiers, the USA Starting XI came in at an average of 23.82, almost two years younger than the next closest team, Ghana at 25.67. Together, the other 31 participating teams averaged a Starting XI age of 27.5 through qualifying, nearly four full years older than the U.S. Sources say this is one of the youngest, but most talented teams the U.S. has ever fielded. While they may not win the world cup this year, they may garner the experience needed to make a serious run on home soil in the year 2026 when the World Cup comes back to North America.

Our best talents simply play other sports and that's the end of this conversation.

Greg did every thing we asked him to.

Win trophies.
Best Mexico.
Win the gold cup.
Get to the WC.
Get out of the group stage.

We build from there. Are there things you can be frustrated with? Sure. But he did all we asked.
Moral victories! The US soccer mantra.

Then why do you think Greg deserves any sort of credit? The USA has a standard that we will advance to the R16 every time, and when we don't that alone is a failure. This was one of our easier group stages we've had in recent memory.

The coach can only do so much, but coming into a tournament and changing your #9 constantly, bringing in an MLS guy for the R16 that you haven't started all tournament (btw I called out by saying he might as well not even be on the field) just to see you bring on Reyna a fan favorite that everyones been asking to see, just to see you put him as our #9, goes to show how he completely failed on producing a cohesive unit for this tournament..

Greg realized we weren't scoring goals and he failed to adapt in the group stage.

Messi has delivered two PERFECT feeds for a third goal in just 5 min [as in, just breathe on it to put it the rest of the way in] and the winger boofed both of them.

Just gonna say but a perennial question among other clubs in England is which club has the most c***ish fans, West Ham or Chelsea. The answer is always Chelsea and always will be. Absolutely no surprise to me it's one of those lot coming on here acting like a massive wanker.

And all the other stuff you've all been chucking his way on England is right, sadly. Not heavyweights, contenders, sleeping giants. Been absolutely dog-s*** forever.

Yeah, gotta love Pele, but my hatred for that little flopping bitch Neymar won’t ever balance my heart enough to root for Brazil. Although, I think every soccer fan around the globe has their fingers crossed for an Argentina v. Brazil semifinal. It doesn’t get much better than that matchup that deep in the tournament.
