There was a team heading in to 2011 that was coming off of 8 straight .500 or less seasons and no playoff appearances during that stretch. They had just fired a defensive minded head coach that coached teams that significantly underperformed.

They chose the best player in the draft at #7, traded up to get their QB in round 2, and started a maligned quarterback that had struggled w/ the franchise for 5 of those seasons. This team went 13-3 in 2011 and fumbled away an opportunity to play in the Super Bowl on a muffed punt.

Geno would be great, everyone. But this is exactly why I'm not going all jump off the cliff if the organization does not choose him. A scenario like this (acquiring Revis and #9 for #1), if the organization doesn't feel there is a QB at #1, would be the best case scenario.

If this franchise doesn't feel that Geno is worth the #1 pick, they've failed at properly evaluating QBs. Simple as that.
