Keep doubting CEH

Yup, it's time to go there.

Clyde is being sold below guys on our practice squad (mOrE GOre!!). The Mayocks of CP are coming out of the woodwork to revisit the draft and the 'wasted' first round pick on a RB. He's slow. He's unathletic. He has no vision. He can't pass block. He completely sucks.

I'm not sold on this narrative.

Fumble was inexcusable but highly atypical. Guy has struggled with vision this year. But he flashed early last year. He's still figuring out this OL and the Chiefs are still figuring out how to use him in this system. He was named the MVP of the best college (spread) offense I think we might ever see. He has talent. Just needs to re-find his groove.

I'm not giving up on him as we've seen Reid do more with a lot less. And I think Clyde is primed to turn it up from here.

So, not a homer take. Just a take that's being less pessimistic after a difficult loss. Let this be a safe space for those who haven't given up on Clyde.

I believe.

One.
It's a fault of the offense/scheme Reid runs.

When the Chiefs get inside the redzone, they can't run the football effectively, especially inside the 5.

Clyde isn't getting the ball inside the redzone.

It's frustrating. I wish the Chiefs would run more plays from behind center and not out of the shotgun so much.

I have watched enough football to know that not all plays work and that running plays depend on play design and how well the play is blocked.

Clyde has 27 carries and 3.3 YPC. All other Chiefs players have 14 carries and a 3.3 YPC. That includes scrambles and jet sweeps and all running plays.

The way the first two game played out, Chiefs did not run as many offensive snaps as they usually do. Seems like most of the drives that ended with a punt had a offensive penalty or a sack or TFL or both.

Seems like Chiefs had one drive end because of Clyde and that was the fumble. The assholes around here have been badmouthing him before that.

Glad to see you are contrite for posting a dumbass article that says that a guy who has 9 yard rushing plays in both games is having the worst year in the league because he has not made any first downs, when he made a first down in one of the most memorable plays of the Chiefs season.

You found the most misleadingly stupid article on the internet about the 2021 NFL season. A guy that gets most of his carries on first down is the worst running back in the league because he has not made any first downs excepts for the ones forgotten about. Never mind several 7 yard and 9 yard runs on first down carries.

Clyde's long carry in the two preseason games he played were 10 yards and 7 yards and he has at least one 9 yard run in both regular season games.

I have watched enough football to know that RBs that are no good do not rip off plus 5 yard gains regularly.

The article was on PFT, dip shit. Maybe you’ve heard of it? I visit PFT everyday and saw that article this morning. I posted it here because it shows that it’s not just CP that’s noticed the struggles of CEH. Sorry you disagree. That’s your problem.

It's unbelievable to me we're using "9-yard runs" as a barometer of worthiness.

Good RBs rip off a run over 20 yards almost every game.

That is why they track that stat.

Clyde has ONE in his last 10 games and it came with the Chiefs down 15 in the SB.

I don't know what to think about CEH anymore. Compelling points from all sides. Hoping for the best. Hope the kid has a stellar day tomorrow. Keeping the glass half full with TC et al.

Yeah...that's why he's averaging 3.2 yards lmao. He has 8 runs this season 5 yards or more. He has 19 runs of 5 or less. Those numbers should be flipped at worst given what the line has been giving him.

It's not about the stats and or opportunities, he just doesn't past the eye test. He is small, not quick and doesn't possess the burst. I hope he finds his way and becomes a factor but he is definitely nothing special for being a 1st round pick.
