I think if he wins the SB very early in his career it’ll fetch for $3,000 or more.

A friend of mine gave me a football a couple of months ago that was autographed by Jan Stenerud, Bobby Bell, Willie Lanier, Emmitt Thomas, Curley Culp, and Steve Deberg. He was at an autograph show or some such thing and they were all there. It was a very nice surprise to receive.

I have bought one card for my pc, because it was fairly cheap and I figure it has a shot at being expensive. Its a 2016 Raul Mondesi on card auto numbered to 50. If he can duplicate this year over a full season over a full season this year he will be a bonafide super star. Take his numbers over a 162 game season and you have 101 Runs/164 hits/28 Doubles/6 Triples/30 HRs/80 RBIs/70 SBs If he does that it would be something never accomplished by someone else. 30 HR 70 RBI. Hell 30 HR 50 RBI has only been done twice. Im trying to find some higher end RPAs |

Finally got my first Patrick Mahomes RPA. It's from the 2017 Flawless Collegiate box, but I was absolutely stokedcwhen I won it. First I was lucky enough to pick the Chiefs in the break and then the very last card that was pulled out was Mahomes. Spent around $60 to get the Chiefs and won a card that could be worth a grand during the season. It seems like the price of his cards have takenca slight drop in value, but should start to go up during the season (especially if he has a year even close to last year).
Another thing I have made an investment in is some Raul Mondesi Jr. cards. If he stays anywhere close to his current pace, then holy shit theyll be worth a shit ton. I have 3 Mondesi cards I bought off eBay and im waiting on those to get here and then I have 1 Mondesi that I got from a card shop for 10 bucks. Im definitely going to send these in for a grade, will probably just do PSA since its easier to get 10s with them and they respected. As a long time card collector I loved to make the rounds at the big shows, especially the National when it visited Chicago.
After moving to Lawrence KS I wanted something 'Chiefy' on the walls and came across this poster on ebay, and with a bit of research discovered it was Otis Taylor stretching out for a pass in the design. Not long after buying it the next National was announced and one of the guest signees was Len Dawson. Made the trip out to Chi town with the poster in hand and got the great man to sign it "Coming your way OT", think he found it pretty emotional actually because Otis was already struggling with his health. $10 poster and $35 to get Len's auto, but I just love having this on the wall... |

A few weeks ago, I got the itch to look for some online baseball auctions (not ebay) and found a local one doing an estate sale for a TON of Royals stuff. This guy had several hundred signed baseballs, among other things. The auctioneer put the balls into lots of 6-10 and got pretty lazy because he would only indentify one or two of the obvious autographs. The others weren't even mentioned and not even photographed to be easily read, they were just kind of in a pile. So one lot was advertised as George Brett, and there was a nice Brett auto ball. The other 5 weren't named, and I could only make two of the others for sure--Paulo Orlando on a 2015 WS ball and oddly, Bob Feller. The 4th one I was pretty sure was Bo Jackson, but the picture was bad. The 5th one was a '15 WS ball, with part of the sig barely visible, but I had hope it was someone in particular---but I wouldn't know til I picked it up. The 6th I couldn't tell at all. So my winning bid was $175 So I go to pick up and its basically a Royals museum in the dead guy's basement. The 4th ball was a Bo Jackson, so that's great. The 5th was what I was hoping--'15 WS Yordano Ventura. Yes! And the one I couldn't see at all--'15 WS "Raul" Mondesi. I was pretty happy. None were authenticated, but this guy had photos of himself with Royals players, coaches, and staff going back 40 years, so I'm fairly certain it's all legit stuff. |
