Funny thing is Patriots fans hate the guy more than probably any other team. Remember he was the guy who took the ball pressure measurements in Deflate Gate.
He also totally botched a pass interference call that cost the Patriots a game a few years ago against the Panthers. The one where Kuechly basically hugged Gronk in the endzone. He most famously botched the coin toss in the playoffs between the Cardinals and Packers a couple years ago. |

Oh yes the ball pressure. I guess the Pats will be pumping air in the ball by halftime because it goes flat in the cold. Right? That was their excuse.

"Blakeman has been the referee for two Chiefs games this season, the first being Kansas City’s 38-28 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1. There were 13 accepted penalties in that game, with six of them being called on the Chiefs for 50 yards and seven of them called on the Chargers for 45 yards. Blakeman’s crew (which was different during the regular season than the one he'll have in the AFC Championship) also officiated the Chiefs’ 54-51 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night in Week 11, during which 13 penalties were accepted against the Chiefs for 135 yards and eight were accepted against the Rams for 60 yards. The Patriots played one game under Blakeman’s crew during the regular season – a 26-10 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 3, during which the Patriots had five penalties for 38 yards and the Lions had six penalties for 70 yards. According to Pro Football Reference, Blakeman's crew called 223 penalties for 1,897 yards during the regular season, with 107 on the home team and 116 on the visiting team, with home teams carrying a .375 winning percentage in his games. That is shitty considering almost all officiating favors home teams and his doesn't really do that.

Blakeman's crew calls far fewer DPI and def holding penalties than the NFL average. That favors us.

Super Bowl refs:
Four teams are still vying for their spots in the biggest of big games, but the seven-man officiating crew for Super Bowl LIII, led by referee John Parry, was announced Tuesday by the NFL. Parry will see action in his third Super Bowl, while line judge Jeff Bergman, field judge Steve Zimmer and back judge Terrence Miles will make their second big game appearances. Umpire Fred Bryan, down judge Edgar Camp and side judge Eugene Hall will officiate their initial Super Bowls. The Super Bowl takes place Sunday, Feb. 3, live on CBS from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The top-seeded New Orleans Saints are hosting the No. 2 Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game, while the No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs will duke it out with the second-seeded New England Patriots in the AFC Championship.

Clete and his crew did the Ravens win out at the LA Chargers game. I thought they did a real good job, they screwed the chargers on several calls.
