But like I keep saying, it comes down to production per unit Salary Cap.

I look back at the Sean Smith contract, and he was definitely worth 5.5 per. Is Josh Norman worth 15? I'd say resoundingly no. Even further down the list, is Talib worth 10? I'm thinking not.

I'd rather get 3 Sean Smtih's than 1 Josh Norman, even if you drafted Norman.

And drafting is super important because those are by far the cheapest dollars and any production at all is a huge value. But being smart with non-rookie deal money is the most important thing here. Whether you drafted them or not.
That's how the Patriots have remained successful; they do a very good job of getting good production out of cheaper players.

Marcus Cannon, Julian Edelman, Kyle VanNoy, Adrian Clayborn, Cordarelle Patterson, Patrick Chung, etc...

Lots of guys that were either relatively low investment retentions or scrap heap FA veterans that they have gotten value out of. None of them are difference makers but they're guys that can help you win ballgames and cost very little of your overall cap.

Granted, it's easier to do that when you have an excellent head coach that can put those guys in positions to succeed, but that's just another way you can leverage that competitive advantage.

Agree. There are a couple free agents that will likely be available this year that I think would fit on a relatively cheap deal. I really like the idea of picking up Jets DB Darryl Roberts the more I've thought about it. He's a guy that can play CB and FS and really has stepped up the past couple seasons. If the Chargers let Adrian Phillips get away, he's a guy I'd look at too.

Throwing this in here rather than starting a new thread, PFF did a mock draft and noted how Hitchens was the WORST graded ILB in their system this season, and drafted Devin Bush, ILB at the back of the 1st.

I'm not familiar with Bush, anyone have any opinions? 1st round graded talent? Good fit for the Chiefs?

I’m loving some of the mock draft acquisitions for KC that I’ve been seeing the last few days from national writers. Some of them include: Thompson (S, Bama), Baker (CB, Georgia), and Murphy (CB, Washington).

Obviously it’s way early to know when all of these guys are going to go, but I like our chances of being able to add a really nice piece to the secondary in R1.

Dude.

I like you, but this is like the 8000th time you've done this. It's time for an intervention.

His name is:

Derrick

N

N

A

NO ****ING EXTRA N

D

I

I was letting it slide because I'm also prone to typos from time to time, but it's clear at this point you just don't know what the guy's ****ing name is.

Nnadi. Think "Nada," as in the amount of time it takes to learn his bloody name. You wouldn't say, "Nanda." Nada. Nada -> Nnadi. Not Nnandi. Or Nnannndi.

Quit adding extra ****ing Ns. If you do that in Wheel of Fortune, you lose your turn. That means you might not be able to solve the puzzle and win fabulous cash and prizes. It would be very good to not add that extra n so you don't miss out on the cash and the prizes.

Derrick Nnadi.

Nnadi Nnadi Nnadi.

Nnan--- NO YOU ****ING DON'T. It's Nnadi.

His name is Derrick Nnadi.

I saw those too and, quite honestly, I believe both of those guys projected oddly. Bucky has nowhere near enough DBs with only 3. I had did a study I posted a year or so ago where I looked at the drafts from 2008 to 2017 and teams averaged drafting 6 DBs in the 1st. Jeremiah Has 6 DBs in his mock. The fact Bucky didn't put Jeffery Simmons in round 1 makes me give him little credit at this point. I don't think Kyler Murray goes round 1 and not having Drew Lock in there for Jeremiah is puzzling. Both went heavy on DL with 10 each, but that is probably given this year's class and there have been a few seasons with 9 and 11 in that span. You have to go all the way back to 2011 to see only 3 DBs taken in round 1.

Here were the actual averages from what I posted. Maybe I'll update to include 2018 later.

QB 2.7
RB 2.0
WR 3.6
TE 0.8
OL 6.2
DL 7.6
LB 3.0
DB 5.9
ST -

Anyhow, I don't see any of the top 3 DBs falling to KC at the bottom of 1.

I’m sure it means nothing, especially from a guy who is wrong as often as La Canfora, but that tweet last week about them leaning against tagging Ford really steered me wrong.

They better not let him walk for nothing.

Look at the bottom.

Not that picking games equates to predicting future free agency moves, but the guy is a ****ing moron. There is ZERO CHANCE Ford walks.

I can't see realistically a Dlineman getting taken in the 1st by the Chiefs but irrationally I really want it to happen.

I was thinking yesterday would it be all that bad if they took Tillery or if Simmons fell (didn't he have some off field issues?) and you took someone like that with a small trade up then threw in both 2nds and a little something extra to go back up to the 1st again and get either a 1st round graded corner or ILB. I could live with that.

Could you just imagine though. A nasty top ranked defense to go along with this offense? It would be game over.

RunKC, you're one of the better football posters on this forum. But every time you say "Nnandi" you make O.City look a little bit smarter. And you don't want that, because that guy either types with catchers mitts on both hands or he's just a ****ing dumbass. And a condescending one at that.

Don't lower yourself to O.City levels. Don't do it for the losers on this forum. Or your family. Do it for yourself.
