We know this kid is an anomaly.

You can't go from being happy losing @24-9 to expecting a SB, knowing the defense is suspect.

How this makes sense to you is confusing.

At 24-9, Mahomes looked MORTAL. At 24-9, this team didn't look like a Super Bowl team at all. It looked like the 10-6 team I expected. I didn't say I was happy, I said I was at peace with it.

Then the 2nd half happened and the realization came that 2nd half Mahomes is the real Mahomes and this team absolutely IS a Super Bowl contender with anything resembling a defense. Which of course, they don't have.

Expectations change, from game to game, even from half to half.

I realize the defense is really bad, but almost every single defense is bad. Defense is a thing of the past. The Jags were supposed to be the amazing defense and have looked like shit the last 2 weeks. Defense barely matters. Look at the SB last year. There was no defense being played.

Which is why individual players matter now more than ever. One Eric Berry can be the difference between a win and a loss. We've got $30M sitting on the freaking bench. That's frustrating.

And to be fair, it's entirely possible Veach is working the phones right now, but if they get to the trade deadline without making any significant moves, that's going to be even more frustrating.

Why are the Raven so good?

Defense is worse, but stop acting like every defense is as bad as the Chiefs.

Think about how asinine this is "Nobody plays defense now!"

Yet KC is 32 in yards and 27th in points allowed. Everything is relative in the NFL. The fact that everyone is a bit worse doesn't do anything to defend the fact that KC is THE WORST OF THE AWFUL.

We'll fix this defense.

I think they're gonna sign DJ, Berry comes back and they trade for a legit corner. That'll be enough to beat NE. Im not worried that we lost to NE. We'll get em back. This team is going 14-2.

DJ is broken. Berry isn't coming back.

But I guess we can hope that you're right.

Berry will come back. I changed my mind about him. I originally thought he wouldn't play, but I think they're saving him for the crucial time when it matters most. That thingy he has takes a while to heal.

give it time, and place him in a walking boot, and he will play. Don't worry. If Berry and the Chiefs believe he couldn't go, wouldn't they have placed him on the IR by now? There is a reason they're taking time with this and not rushing it. No need to.

DJ may not be what he used to be, but he wants that ring and that motivation and drive, leadership will fuel the defense. Is he going to play every down? No. His body can't do it. But don't kid yourself, he is still gonna make plays. Were signing DJ. I feel it bro, I feel the blood rushing in my veins garrrrgh...This organization loves him, and he loves them and was a great member to the KC community. There is a relationship there. I feel that the Chiefs will reward his loyalty because he was good to them and he wants to come back here knowing he has a chance to win it at the end of his career and seeing the state that the team is in. Its match bro!!

And were gonna trade for a legit corner. I smell it! Veach is gonna package picks and were gonna get that legit guy. Move fuller back in the slot where he belongs. Im not worried. My confidence and belief in this team is higher than it has been in years. Arrowhead is gonna be fun in January! See you there for the AFC championship game!

OK, you know yourself with a legitimate defense, just middle of the road, with the way this offense is capable of scoring, this team is SB bound.

Now with this said, we do not have one, nor do I see us getting there and the frustrations are pilling up with many fans.

Where old timers as you and I, patients is a virtue. But as Mecca and Htis has mentioned, we are not promised that we will ever see a SB later and striking while the iron is hot is rational thinking.

Absolutely right. We've still got 2 weeks to make a move on the trade market, and Veach has shown himself to be pretty ****ing aggressive on that front. He sees the same thing we do, it's why we almost had a deal for Earl Thomas worked out.

No,what I see is marginalizing a once in a lifetime QB over our first loss in his first season as a starter, while at the same time expecting a SB appearance six games into the season, KNOWING the defense is suspect.

You can't have it both ways.
